I have tried different sushi places all over Indianapolis and surrounding areas and for me they have the best sushi. They serve big rolls full of sushi, not the tiny rolls that are not much bigger than my thumb as most sushi places do. Always fresh.
The Softshell Crab roll was really yummy!! But it's super heavy and very large.If you're a fan if the softshell crab, you'll love this roll! It had so much softshell crab inside the roll and on top, that I couldn't finish it all myself.The okonomiyaki was cooked well, outside has a nice crisp texture, and the inside was soft and moist.Overall a great dinning experience, but I definitely underestimated the softshell crab roll.
I'm not a sushi fan, but they have enough other items. I enjoyed the chicken teriyaki bento box-plenty of food. Gyoza was particularly delicious. Service was outstanding.

My husband and I had eaten here when we were in Indianapolis 8 years ago and were hoping that it would still be there when we were there last week. Much to our delight,it was! The food and service were just as good as we remembered. I can't wait to go back the next time we're in Indy.
I am copy & pasting this from my GrubHub review as I think it is pertinent that folks know. REQUESTS NOT HONORED AND ADD-ONS CHARGED BUT NOT INCLUDED. I gave this place a second chance after having really gross, subpar, fish in my sushi. I chalked that up to being my fault as it was definitely not a day fresh fish was delivered. However, tonight both my requests and order for extra ginger (which I paid extra for) were ignored. I asked specifically for no soy, and my rolls were delivered with soy sauce INSIDE the container with the rolls, as well as rolls with soy/teriyaki sauce on them. I don’t know if they just don’t read their Grubhub orders entirely or what, but I would highly suggest considering ordering from other places before here. Such a shame.
I've wanted to try this place for years. I'm glad I finally did! I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box. After the meal, it even came with ice cream! I loved the entire meal so much, and I will definitely be back.
I have been here multiple times as it is a spot that my friends and I like to have dinner at. But after my experience there tonight, I was left speechless and needless to say I will NOT be back. I was there with my ONE YEAR OLD and two friends. I'm not sure the name of this older waitress but as soon as my daughter started talking and laughing SHE CAME OVER AND PUT HER ENTIRE HAND OVER MY BABIES NOSE AND MOUTH. Do you not know to not touch a stranger? Let alone a baby? Do you not know about germs? This is NOT okay.
I have been going here for 4 years. Family get together and company parties. Always order the same dishes . It never happened this way. I understand people make mistakes put down the wrong order but you got to fix it to the right menu and saying the chef is left and gave me black dumplings instead. So disappointed. I ordered tonkatsu not pork dumplings
After moving to Indy in Sept and visiting a few sushi restaurants, this has become our favorite. The manager and staff are gracious and attentive. The environment is colorful, clean, and comfortable. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. I know many folks talk up Sakura but for us, the food & environment at Ocean World suits us better.
