Tried out this spot for the first time tonight with my wife around 5:30. We had the bar to ourselves with only a handful of tables being served. Not busy at all. Ordered a very delicious China poblano and the wife had a glass of pinot. Next thing you know, in walks a party of 21. Staff looked a little shocked but went right to work. As we were nearing a decision on our order, in walks a party of 27 to celebrate a birthday. In the midst of being overwhelmed, this staff went hard to work. Our food was served quickly. As I enjoyed the 3 way fajitas, this wonderful lady took the small stage and sang a few classic songs beautifully. What more could you ask for from a restaurant? Great food, great atmosphere and an amazing staff. Job well done.
Mr. Tequila's Cantina & Grill Indianapolis TLDR: The enchiladas were the star of the show for me and the refried black beans were amazing. Cute decor with a nice bar and dining area. Margaritas were ok. Staff couldn't answer questions about anything (English was her second language but even simple questions about spice level and if they use sweet and sour - she did not know the answers or appear to understand). I would go back for the food and ambiance. Really good. 4 out of 5 stars.--We got there early on a Wednesday, just as the Lily and other local workers were getting out for lunch.I like the two different vibes in the dining area and bar. They have live music and shows on the weekends. We had:1.Complimentary chips and salsa2. Queso dip ($5.99) - this is a thing you never find in California and while I don't care for it, my mom loves it. This queso was *very* watery and the most disappointing things of our meal but my mom still ate it ?.3. Enchiladas Rancheras ($12.99) - "Three corn enchilada tortillas, stuffed with marinated grilled chicken and covered with red ranchera salsa lettuce, radishes and mexican cheese and sour cream served with refried black beans." (DELICIOUS. I never had radish and lettuce on my enchiladas and it was so good. All white meat chicken with a great marinade. Small but savory enchiladas. The black beans were the BEST I'VE EVER HAD hands down)4. Hard Shell Tacos with Ground Beef (One for $2.19) - Mom loved it and said it was better than Taco Bell. She's a basic food B so that was a big compliment ?5. Texas Margarita ($12) - Their top shelf. The server wasn't able to answer my questions about the margaritas (I don't like sweet and sour) so I ordered the top shelf. I thought it was OK. There was sweet and sour in it and it wasn't strong at all, which was OK for it being 11:30 AM ?6. Virgin Strawberry Margarita ($9.99) for mom. She drank it all and loved it.Off the menu tomatillo hot sauce. Smokey in flavor. I thought it was OK. Did the trick at adding heat to notoriously non-spicy Hoosier food.Overall, I'd go back for the food and to try a different drink.ONE CAVEAT:Service was friendly, but, the server struggled to have answers or understand us and we were clear in our questions. I know English is her second language, but it did make for some challenges in understanding spice levels, ingredients, etc. She appeared to either not understand or to not know the answer. The reason I mention this is that if you are gluten free, vegetarian, or vegan you might have a hard time getting answers to things like if the refried black beans are cooked in lard (I don't know) or if they can modify something for GF.--Overall, I'd say a generous 4 out of 5 stars for ambiance, friendliness, parking/location, and the entrees. I'll be back for sure for another go.

Ordered online for Uber Delivery. Way over priced for portion and quality. Did not send correct soup and even if it was a substitution there was no indicator. There was no soup. Just black beans in a container. I will not order again and have no motivation to visit at this point.
They did not want to refund a dessert item that arrived different from previous ordered. Told me they were NOT going to give a refund because they did not know how to work their POS machine.
Super cool restaurant. Great food and drinks. They also have love singers who were very good and entertaining.
Good atmosphere relax and chill just a good place have some food and drinks
Food and service were awesome!!Great place to check out!!
I really use to like this place a year ago, meet with some friends and ordered Teqjilas Botana appetizer it was horrible! Sent it back and tried the Fajita! It looked like a lunch portion drinks were watered down table and glassware dirty!
Beware if you are ordering online. Worst ordering experience ever. What kind of place does not include chip with an order of choriqueso and guacamole dip. I'm stuck at home quarentined so I can't run to get chips anywhere. The whole order is just trash. There are way too many options for service this awful. I'll spend my money elsewhere and actually get what I order.
