Aaron Brown is a great chef! I have been there twice and both times were amazing. While I was dining I overheard a lady on the phone praising how good his food was. He also had great hospitality. I ordered chicken and waffles, and the time before I had greens, yams, mac and cheese. I also had fries and cornbread. Just know I am never disappointed. One of the best spots in the city.
My young server was very polite and gave me menu choice options. I chose the waffles and chicken strips with fries. I didn't wait no more than ten minutes. My order was hot and fresh. The cook and server got a 6.50 tip.
Food was horrible. I got the salmon croquettes with grits and fried green tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes were saturated in grease and the first set of salmon croquettes were so over cooked on the outside that they were undone on the inside. I posted a picture of the second batch. After that I just threw it away. A waste of time and money.
Their food is delicious and the service was amazing and the vibe and over atmosphere of the place was welcoming and friendly!!! Love it 10/10
I'm not even a negative person at all and I love supporting our people but my first experience was my last. The waiting of over an hour for chicken and waffles, by the way, is my favorite meal and is the best ever at the Screen Door in Portland Oregon and I've been to many places West coast and South.Anyway, my wait resulted in to being forgotten about, reordering, poor service, overcooked chicken and waffles and a bad experience and I've never been back.
A coworker suggested this on our trip to Indianapolis. I was a little hesitant since I had never eaten it. It DID NOT disappoint. The spices in the breading on the chicken, the fluffy waffle and the perfectly seasoned green beans all had me stuffed. I ate every bite! I will be back and wouldn't mind the 2 hour drive to get there.
Awesome food. Very personable guys. Thanks for the awesome time.
Chicken and waffles meal was delivered without chicken, nobody tried to reach out and didn’t compensate for troubles
I went here yesterday for the first time. I ordered the chicken and waffle. They were both really good and I especially liked the peach butter that came with the waffle. That was different!
Great grub only thing i can think of is to advertise that they make hot water cornbread still good just not a fan of it.
