My friend and I are the ones who rented this space for the event mentioned in the two recent 1 star reviews. As one of the people who rented the space and ran the event I do not agree with their rating. The venue is amazing and very nice and worked absolutely perfectly for our event. I heard from many of our guests after the event and they all had positive things to say about the venue and how they hoped we would do other things there in the future. The space is large with several areas to have different things going on at the same time. The venue is very simply but nicely decorated and well appointed with hard wood floors, all the things one might need including chairs, tables, plenty of counter space, multiple restrooms, a dressing area, a stage, and a really nice kitchen. The building is also fully accessible with an elevator. The issue with the aerial rig, I put as much on us as anyone. The venue owners had no way of knowing that we had rented that from a 3rd party. The damages we were charged for were legitimate and caused during our event. I also believe what they charged us was a fair price to fix the two issues. Overall the owners were accessible, fair, easy to deal with, and very understanding. Especially when our DJ accidentally set off the smoke detectors with a fog machine.I would definitly recommend this venue and would personally rent from the owners again.
The space is Amazing... However, the owners are not!! The owners have no clue how to legally rent out event space, evidenced by the fact that you don't even have to sign any type of agreement to rent it.We rented out our aerial equipment to a specific company for use at this event location. When we showed up the following day to collect OUR equipment, the owner decided she wanted to hold it hostage until her renters paid for some damages she claimed (without a rental agreement with them mind you... And absolutely NO agreement with us).It literally took threatening to have the police come assist me in removing my equipment before she would come to the door and allow us to remove our rig. They also charged the renters $500 for something that could be fixed/replaced for under $200.Also, as said in a previous review, they complained that the blinds had been closed & were "too hard" to open.. maybe if they had a rental agreement, things like "do not close blinds" could be part of that.I would not rent from them without a signed agreement in hand!!
My partner and I rented equipment to a company renting the space for an event. When we went to pick up our equipment from the venue the next day they refused us access to the building, holding our equipment hostage, demanding the company that used the space pay an exhorbitant amount of money for some minor damages that occured during their event, despite the fact they rented the venue to the company with no contract or legal document with the company who rented our equipment. We were not granted access to get our equipment until we threatened to call the police after waiting over an hour for them to let us in to get our gear. The venue is great, but would not want to deal with the owners again. They even complained about the blinds being put down despite not having mentioned anything about them to the company we rented our equipment to.
Nice event space in the former Irvington Masonic Lodge. The facility is located near the middle of the Historic Irvington area. The building houses several businesses on first floor with their own outside entrance. The building was built in 1922 listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The interior has been restored.
I Worked here as a DJ for a wedding recently and had a great experience! Tons of room and great pricing makes this a venue to book for your event!
It was horrible, the reservation was for a wedding on the second floor, we got there couldn’t use the second door so had to move chairs to the third floor all while going upstairs so some guest couldn’t even stay cause they were older and couldn’t do all the steps. The lady we rented from thought it was funny when we told her the kitchen smelled of pot she laughed and said oh that the people upstairs that I rent to!!! Wouldn’t give us a deposit back because blinds were down that were down when we got there and never touched, she lied and said the place was a mess but yet refused to look at the pics we took to show it wasn’t.... the lady is a joke I don’t recommend anyone use her!!!
The Lodge is one of the coolest buildings in Irvington, and on the east side of Indianapolis at large! Beautiful interiors, spacious and a great place to host events. The current owners are friendly and focused on being positive, progressive and inclusive. What's not to love?
I went to Lodge Events for Garage in the Lodge and it seemed to be advertised as a bigger variety of vendors. There was not. I did find a few cute things but I was expecting a lot more options to choose from.
This was the perfect venue for our wedding! Gorgeous space and reasonable rates. It made the event shine.
Beautiful place, a lot of potential. This magnificent hardwood makes me want to dance.
