Great breakfast/lunch location. Menu is relatively small. They have good selection of pastries and cakes.
I had the chicken salad sandwich. The salad was bland and full of gristle. The bread was stiff and crumbly and fell apart as I was trying to eat it. My mother also had a turkey sandwich that she said was just okay, but she could have made a better one at home. My daughter is a mac and cheese fiend, but didn't finish the cup I got her as a side to my sandwich. All around, the food was just meh, like cafeteria food. I wish we'd tried some bakery items, since that seems to be where most of the good reviews come from. The staff was really nice, though.
This is a popular neighborhood haunt for breakfast, lunch or early dinner. High quality food and coffee. Known for quiche, bakery items and homemade soups. Patio seating in the summer.

Ordered chickensalad on a croissant, there was not 1/4 cup of chickensalad on it. The croissant we under baked to the point of raw dough. It was a to go order to take to a friend. So dissspointed , Not sure I will go back. They had to know they were sending out Raw Dough.
They opened back in 1979 and I am still going there. My favorite sandwich is the turkey avocado bacon croissant. Yum yum!!Check out their chocolate covered yeast donuts. They are the best I have found anywhere.
We had chicken salad sandwich and chicken philly with salad, cole slaw and fruit salad. Every thing was so delicious ! And portions are very generous. Awesome! Staff it s friendly and service is fast
Always delicious. Always fresh. Something for everyone from soups to salads to sandwiches to breakfast items. The bakery goods are to die for and the refrigerated meals to go are lifesavers. I go here frequently for lunch with my coworkers. Highly recommend!
Illinois Street Food Emporium Indianapolis Stay Away 820020192 I went in to this.location today Wed. 11/24/2021 for what should have been a quick pickup on an order for some rolls that my sister bought and paid for a couple of days ago. She was told they could be picked up TODAY ANYTIME BEFORE 5PM. I was in this place for at least an hour with the same girl who could not find my sisters order...the african american lady steps into help and calls my sister (who is working today) and goes in the back and finds the order pretty much immediately and then my sister text me and says they claim the other girl was new....guess the new girl was new and the info I gave to her to find my sisters order went in one ear and out the other.... I am beyond upset....I give this establishment...using that word lightly ...zero stars ....and thank you to the african american female who saved the day ...kudos and she deserves a huge raise !!! I want them to give my sisters money back and I would never recommend this place to anyone and I think we should stop doing business at this place. Aside from my inconvenience and wasting my gosh blessed time...it made me seem as if I am silly or or do not know my own sisters name dealing with a new inexperienced and unconcerned female employee....UGHH I could not accept a drink or any offer from the lady who fixed and retrieved my sisters order... she offered me something for my inconvenience. I do not want a drink or sandwich. How about a 50 dollar gas gift card for runnimg out all of my gas ... I left the car running thinking I was gonna be in and out for again a prepaid pick up order...who knew I would be in the place for an hour with those ppl...ughh again and ughh again.... At this point a 50 dollar gas card from Shell would be the only incentive for me to feel better about my horrific experience.... I really was feeling extremely anxious and I was two seconds away from making my sisters order myself....
