I love love love Iaria's! Seriously this is easily my favorite Italian restaurant I've ever been too. I love how proud they are of their history. It's fun to see the pictures when you enter of the family owners through the generations. The food is phenomenal. I'm obsessed with the grouper piccata and the tortellini. The grouper melts in your mouth and is smothered in a delicious lemon butter sauce. The tortellini is perfect and I could drink the creamy tomato sauce it's that good! Their house minestrone also just hits the spot! The service is always polite and accurate and the ambiance has a welcoming and warm Italian restaurant feel to it.If you haven't tried Iaria's you have to do yourself a favor and have an Italian night out! You'll leave stuffed and happy every time.
Authentic Italian restaurant that has been there forever. They must be doing something right. The service was top notch. Between the 4 of us we had 4 different dishes and all were excellent. They also have a nice beer selection compared to other Italian restaurants I've been to.
so good!!! very friendly staff, cozy and inviting atmosphere, great drinks, excellent pasta!!!! if you go after 7 with a party of more than 2 you might like a reservation but my partner and I were lucky enough to get seats in the bar area without calling ahead since we are over 21! awesome!!!
Great little place. We had calamari and caprese apps, pasta, chicken parm & pizza. Everything was excellent. Server good and responsive too.
One of the oldest restaurants in Indy has that old-school vibe of authenticity. It was packed when we ate on a Saturday night, so the service was definitely stretched a bit thin. The food was good, but not great. I was hoping for a better experience based on other recommendations, but wasn't impressed. Maybe it was just an off night, and I might try it again, but it's not on any list of places I recommend.
Having just transplanted to Indy, I was rather hesitant about trying an Italian place, thinking how good could they be? This restaurant reminds me of some of the local places that I went to on a regular basis in my old hometown. Good food, good service all around. It does get busy from like 5-7pm, so if you can hold off dinner till after then, seating and wait time won't be n issue.
Everything from the place to the food and the people felt authentic. It is one side family-friendly dining and the other side is a bar, I assume. We did get a reservation online and were able to sit right away. The only complaint I can think of is the bathroom is pretty weird- a one-stall with the door right next to the kitchen and opens up directly into the dining area. (But hey, it was clean, and it’s a very old place so it makes sense the space is a little wonky.) The service was nice and the speed of food was pretty fast, despite being there on a Friday. Overall one of my top five restaurants in Indy so far and definitely will return!
This is an old established Italian restaurant in Indianapolis. My GF chose it because we're always looking for new places to eat and we love Italian. I had no idea of the authenticity and history of this place though. Had honestly never heard of it, to be honest. But clearly others had. We had reservations for 4:30 soon after they opened and they were already busy. The ONLY issue we had was that when we approached the hostess stand the gal said we could go down the hall to our table. Well that was the bar and that was NOT what we were looking for that night. We didn't know what to do. I approached her and asked if there was a reason we couldn't sit in the nice, quiet dining room. She acted like I should have known to ask for that and said sure we could sit there. She was clearly annoyed. So, anyway, we enjoyed a very nice delicious dinner in a very traditional and authentic place that is now on our radar. I'd recommend it to anyone, I just wish the hostess with the bad attitude hadn't been part of our story. Everything else was terrific. Great place.
We really enjoyed our first visit. The food was good. Our server made some good menu recommendations, and the price was very reasonable. Kind of an old time vibe of a well established restaurant.
Excellent family restaurant, good food, large sizes, and fair prices. ?
