Cool little restaurant. Had a lot of opportunity to wow and surprise. Our server was pretentious, rude and unfriendly. Wearing a mask and yet I could tell he never smiled. Seemed that his entire job description was “out of his way.” Annoying.Food was ok. Service made the experience (if you even want to call it that) minimal. Left a lot to be desired. Descriptions on menu seemed great but upon eating the food: basic and lacking true depth of flavor.
Very cool upscale Mexican place with great cocktails. The food is fairly traditional with little bits of culinary flair - it is NOT taco bell style Mexican. We were very impressed by the cocktails, sangria, and the vibe of the bar. The churros are also incredible.
I have heard so many things about festiva from different friends so we decided to have brunch with our two of our friends. 3 of us did the bottomless drinks for $20/person (you must buy an entrée) 2 of us had peach sangria, and my husband had the paloma. The sangria was ok, usually after 2 drinks I have a slight buzz, there was nothing which is not normal for me. The paloma was disappointing because it was missing ingredients. The best part of a paloma is the smokiness from the mezcal and this did not have that at all. My husband and I had the mexican benedict and the eggs were poached hard. For me the best part of a poached egg as well as benedict is the burst ? you get when cutting into the center of the egg and it's rich velvety texture and flavor it adds. The corn biscuit tasted good but it was exceptionally hard to cut especially since I had hand surgery in October. My husband asked for the black bean purée on the side and instead it was entered in the POS as no black beans. Our friend got the biscuit and gravy and was not expecting the corn biscuit which is completely a throw off from a traditional biscuit. The corn tasted good but it left you with overwhelming corn meal taste in our mouth. The pablano cream sauce was devine, for me if my yolks were runny like a poached egg should be it would have been great. Our server was socially awkward which kind of through off the experience which I have never had a server be that way before especially in an urban setting. I'm not saying we won't be back but I can't find the value in our $140+ bill and it's definitely not on our near future re-visit list.
Festiva proclaims it has the best guacamole in town on its menu. They are not wrong. The little bits of pomegranate give it a burst of sweetness and the pumpkin seeds provide a bit of crunch. The pastor tacos were amazing. I found it easier to eat the filling with a fork than picking it up like a traditional taco. The meal was very filling. I took home leftovers and reheated over rice. It was just as good the next night.
We waiting a long time for the table. We ordered margaritas (which were watered down), fish tacos and chicken enchiladas. Everything was mediocre and the service was incredibly rude. Darn! I used to like this place.
Fantastic drinks, service, and food!
I've mixed feelings about this place. I've never been disappointed, but I've also never been blown away. Everything is pretty good if you're in the mood for it!
Not worth the price in my opinion for the quality of food. Even the Devour special was overpriced. Food was just okay.
From start to finish, this place will keep you happy. Great vibe, cool heated patio, nice bar, and cozy dining room. Staff was great, and the service even better. This was our first visit, so we haven’t sampled all the menu yet, but the Al Pastor street tacos were delicious, and my Playa de Los Cocos cocktail was killer. We’ll be back soon!
Went to this place after my son said it was awesome, what a big disappointment. The chips and queso was the best thing. The food was only ok but the service was horrible, waited over a hour to get my meal. The waiter never came back to let us know it was gonna be late, the hostess saw and advised she will check on our meal. The waiter came back finally with our check but no acknowledgement for be so late, no sorry no nothing.l will not go back ever. And it is not about the time it is about the lack of service and the horrible waiter.
