They changed their closing time since I’ve been here last. Used to be 10 or 1030. I came in at 830 and then saw that they had a sign on the door saying they closed at 9. No problem I thought, still 30 minutes until closing and I’ll just leave a nice tip since 30 minutes is a bit closer to closing than I like to go to places. Waited a couple minutes to get seated and was told that all the tables were dirty, so I’d have to either wait for one to be cleaned or I could sit in the bar. So I figured I’d sit at a table in the bar area so I could get my order in quicker. Then I proceeded to sit there until 9 as three of the servers/bartenders made drinks for other tables without ever saying a word to me. Pretty sure they knew I was there though since I’m pretty sure I heard them talking about how the hostess shouldn’t have sent me over to them or something. Finally I left so that I could eat somewhere else before everywhere else closed at 10.Edit: Went back a second time. There were tables that weren’t dirty and I got seated in the main dining area. Service was decent and the food was good. Doesn’t make up for the first time but I’ll bump my review up to two stars instead of one. I’ve been to cheaper bbq places with better food and never had a service issue. Only thing famous Dave’s does do better is the cornbread muffins, hard to find better without making them yourself.
Great food, never disappoints. Quick and friendly service. Love the draft beer from here, cold and delicious.
Great 4th of July dinner! They seemed a little under staffed but all the food was amazing!Our waiter was GREAT. He was very attentive and had a great attitude!First time visiting a famous Dave’s , won’t be the last!
Waitress was very nice, food was good too. Had the rib tips with barbeque chicken, Mac and cheese. All was delicious. Wait times was about 5 min for the appetizer, 10 min for dinner. Definitely recommend for lunch or dinner. Also has a bar for those wondering.
This restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, and bright. Our server was great. I asked him to repeat his name, but I still didn't get it (something like Duwan), but nonetheless, he was terrific. The food for my husband was "fantastic" according to him. I do not like spicy food, so I order ribs, grilled pineapple, and mac n cheese. The mac n cheese had corn in it and something spicy / hot. I didn't like it, so my hubby ate it. I would go back, but order something different.
Took awhile to be sat but we quickly realized there was a charter bus finishing up and only one server. Our appetizer of burnt ends was quickly served and delicious! Our server was excellent even tho she was super busy. Everything was pretty good other than the baby backs and the brisket.
We went in on a Sunday thinking we didn't have a wait. The greeter wasn't there and we waited about 5-10 minutes before we were greeted ( given every place is having staff shortage) so we waited. We sat after 15 minutes. The food was not bad. Servings seemed small but was filling. We had extra for a 4th person to eat. Overall a good one time try.

I placed a carry out order And the food was terrible. However I call back the same day to speak withThe manager And I was told that they were busy and would call me back in 15 minutes but that didn't happen Eventually someone call back and left a message. So the next day I went to the store in person talk with the young lady name Tiffany Who was the manager on duty at the time and stated She could not give back My money And I ask why I because I had not ate the meal which I brought back uneaten and the receipt She offered to replace the meal or give me some paper Bucks. I am a regular at famous Davis and when I dine in I tip above and beyond But this time the food and service was terrible I guess they should try getting older adults For managers that can handle the job Because there is no way I should not have been given my money back. Especially after I returned the meal uneaten. With the receipt.
I haven't been to a Famous Dave's in years but I found that at least here the quality of the food was just ok. The service was fantastic; waitress and hostess very attentive. I had the three meat platter. The brisket was decent as was the cat fish but chicken was sub par.
