I've been here a couple of times, and it's pretty neat. It's one of those odd places that you find from time to time that don't quite fit in with their location. A museum that has absolutely nothing to do with Indiana, right smack dab in the middle of Indiana. But, I'll still enjoy it anyway! It is nice not having to travel out west to see something like this. Lots of interesting pieces, ranging from the 1800s to modern times (within the past few years). It's a good idea to make sure you have several hours to wander around, especially if you're someone who likes to read all the placards. The parking is pretty spendy, so if you are local, and there's a decent chance you'll return within a year, buying the membership is pretty much a no-brainer.

Very nice and authentic ! Staff was helpful in answering any questions

Extraordinary collection with kind and helpfull staff. The shop had some unique items, and our little one loved the family area in the basement. Down there we saw a corn figure (in the photo), but I forgot to ask more info about it. Maybe next time...

Went for Jingle Rails, which is impressive in itself, and stayed to walk around the museum. Very underrated museum in Indy. Will be visiting at other times of the year too!

It's been a while since we've visited The Eiteljorg Museum. We decided to come because my 2yr old loves trains & the Jingle Rails exhibit was open. It was very nice. The kids also enjoyed the Canal Level exhibit. I personally, love to see all of the artwork. However, the kids (2yrs-12yrs) don't seem to enjoy it much. I'd recommend The Eiteljorg Museum for an adult outing or for kids interested in art.

My kids love jingle rails. It really is amazing how much detail is put into each piece. I like that they put indiana sites in there too.

We came for the holiday themed trains and were really impressed! They put a ton of detail in to each set, and it's great to see how they've recreated so many pieces of iconic American landscapes. Our kids really liked walking around and exploring the different scenes. Speaking of kids, the downstairs kids area of the museum is great for little ones. They have lots of hands-on toys that are perfect for younger kids. They would have spent hours down there! Also, parking is free if you park in the main underground garage and get your ticket validated in the museum.

A cultural center with amazing art of all types. I highly recommend this place for everyone! I was not sure if I would like it but I would be lying if I didn’t say it is one of my favorite places near downtown Indy

As always, we had a wonderful time at the Eitljorg! So much to see and do. We have been visiting the museum every year for the past 3 years to go to the Jingle Rails exhibit with our grandchildren. They enjoy it every year!

Visited on national museum day. The museum was not as expected, as the exhibits focus on western and native american art, not necessarily history of any kind (which is what we thought). The majority of the art were done by colonizers, not natives, which was a bit disappointing. Only one or two small sections focused on Native American art, was hoping for more. Besides this, the art was beautiful, with much to see. Good for an hour visit.
