Traveling from Saint Louis and loving that tavern feel we looked for somewhere near where we were staying. This was about 15 minutes from our hotel and let me just tell you!!!! Best choice we could have made to stop for food, drinks and conversation! We met a regular "Jeff" who was a blast to chat with and the owners were as sweet as pie! Our bartender Lora was amazing and what a great atmosphere this bar has! Located between Madison and Shelby near 465 and looks tiny but man! When u step inside this place is an absolutely beautiful little tavern! Updated after a fire last September! Everyone was friendly and we just had an amazing time with everyone there! We will definitely be back for more tavern fun soon! Thank you for your hospitality! We had a genuine good time and being outsiders walking in... we left feeling like family!
I was in on Tuesday evening around 11-12 and was treated very poorly. I waited for a while for a drink to start with and then was given an attitude when I was finely waited on. The bartender was very rude and not friendly. My friends and I will not be giving this establishment anymore money. When we go to a small neighborhood bar we expect nice friendly staff and patrons and we were given horrible attitude and not good service on top of having to wait when she was not even busy. We will continue to stay at the Corner Bar where we are appreciated and treated great. This was the second time we have experienced bad service. The first time we thought the gentleman was just having a bad day so we decided to give it another try and nope it was just as bad. Tuesday night was the last chance and we know many people and we will be sure to spread the word. Hire people with friendly attitudes that like their job and treat customers the correct way. We have heard from others the gentleman bartender is just rude all the time and that is why they don’t come in and now you can add the Tuesday night bartender to that list. I can say something positive and that is the new construction looks fabulous so just hire fabulous bartenders and maybe your comeback will be better. Our group is all in our 30s and we frequent little neighborhood bars and play on dart leagues and know many people and its a-shame that a new nice place has such bad attitude workers. Come to the Corner Bar and see how they treat people and take notes. Sorry for the bad review we just cant believe we gave it a second chance and it was just as bad if not worse.
I must say, this is a phenomenal place to be. I’m born and raised Indianapolis, but moved to Ohio in 2017. Came to visit this past weekend and was looking for a place to karaoke. We ended up showing up pretty late about 1:30am, but man, it was a great time. I love the ambience of the bar. I karaoke at one spot that has became our home in Ohio, but I mean it when I say we indeed found our new spot to come visit in Indy when we want to karaoke. We felt very welcomed. I can’t believe how much talent is in that establishment!!! The KJ, my apologies I forgot his name, absolutely made people feel welcomed and a star. That man has a heck of a voice himself!!! Very awesome set up, professional, and great energy. And, karaoke is 7 days a week here?? It doesn’t get any better than that. Thank you for a good time! Next time we will be showing up at a decent time to get a full feel of karaoke nights. Looking forward to this again!
I had a great time coming in Thursday with my girlfriend and couple friends. The pizza was amazing and the bartender/cook was a blast. Shes also a great cook and didn’t even know it. We will be back again to spend the day with her. Love the new look and renovation.
Had a great time with karaoke midweek and the drinks are great. Second time Sunday evening the bartender was a bit too edgy, definitely felt disrespect without cause. I respect ALL wait staff until it's not returned.Great place overall ?
Very friendly owner and staff. Nightly karaoke. Reasonable prices.After a fire, they have renovated and the place looks really nice! Used to be a dingy spot. No longer the case.
Had a blast at the Colonial tonight. Place looks great. Older crowd was in for the early karaoke and then the U of I kids came in later. Everyone mixed well. They have a limited menu right now (pizza, bread sticks and pretzel bites). Will be back.
I would like to thank Lori from the colonial for inviting my friend and I back after a bad experience. I've never experienced an owner of a business care so much about their customer experience to actually contact them. We came back this evening and misfit(Melissa) was our server! She took great care of us and the atmosphere was fun and free. Thanks for inviting us to give it another go!

Great little dive bar, drinks are good and strong, karaoke nights are a blast and the pizza is amazing! You'll always have a good time.
