I ate at Caplinger's for the first time, last night. I had the crab cake dinner & it was very good. The collard greens are the best I have ever had at a restaurant. I am, definitely, a fan of thus place.
Had lunch yesterday and it was wonderful. Food was fresh and delicious Shrimp cocktail and clam chowder were amazing. Thanks to Tim Armstrong for the excellent service ?. Definitely recommend this to everyone and if you're not into seafood, they have a delicious tenderloin or chicken
We decided to stop by for a fish meal, and we were pleasantly surprised. The Clam Chowda did not disappoint. It was chock full of clams and potatoes, deliciously creamy and chock full of great flavor. The Tuna Melt was so delicious. The tuna had lots of well balanced flavors from the spices and herbs. Surrounded by melted American cheese, and a soft pillowy toasted bun. This was my first time trying a calamari steak and it was awesome. The two steaks were perfectly cooked, and downright delicious. I had one coated in Creole, and the second one was blackened. The corn bread was firm yet soft, the collard greens were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I enjoyed dipping the Buffalo fries, which were perfectly seasoned, into the spicy remoulade sauce. So worth the visit.
First time ordering from Caplingers and we didn't realize it was noon on a Friday during Lent until after we placed our online order. We showed up 15 minutes later and yup the parking lot was pretty busy. Walked inside and we were pleasantly surprised how fast we were able to get our food. We also didn't realize a drink came with our order and started to leave without, but before we got out the door the staff made sure we received our drinks. They easily could've just let us go on, as they were busy and we would've been none the wiser. Very refreshing that they made sure we got what we ordered when lately at other establishments we've grown accustomed to "I hope we got something close to what we wanted". We get home and it's time for the main event- determining if the taste and overall value is on par with our expectations. Once again we were impressed with Caplingers! Great food in both quality and quantity. Summary: online ordering- 5 stars /pickup and service- 5 stars/ taste and value- 5 stars /Thanks Caplingers! We will be back!

Tried Caplingers for the first time. Friendly and expedient service, clean restaurant and the special dinner was excellent! I'm not really a seafood fan, but I loved the fish! Key lime pie was a little tart, just the way I like it! Will definitely be back! Thanks for a great experience!

Still keeping it awesome!!!! We love this place and super thankful they made a new restaurant on the southside. I ate my chicken sandwich and side of hush puppies before I could take a picture lol. Here's the side of calamari and fish (Basa) and shrimp dinner with okra (AMAZING too) and fries. You won't regret choosing this place for sure.
I just can't stress enough how good the grouper sandwich was.When we walked in the guy was filleting a beautiful red grouper and they fried it right up for us.The bun was perfect, the toppings were fresh, and the fish was seasoned just right.I didn't even know that you could find fresh grouper in Indiana.All the fresh fish in the counter was beautiful and the smell when you walked in was wonderful.Its really mainly a fish market, but they've got small tables around the outside of the room so you can eat there or take it out.
Awesome place for fresh seafood. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for quality fish. They will even cook it on the spot.
