Fish is always fresh, and well seasoned. Customer service is pretty good as well. You can order from the menu, or you can get fresh fish from their market and have them cook it for you. You can also take it home and cook it yourself. Sorry, I'm never really thinking about taking photos when I eat here!

Came here for lunch after the recommendation of a coworker. Fish was fresh and the staff was friendly. The fish had a little too much pepper and lemon for my taste but was still good. If you like seafood I do recommend this restaurant/store for a quick lunch.

My first visit to Caplingers today 5/14. I ordered alligator bites and salmon dinner. Both meals were delicious! My first time trying alligator and it amazing! The wait was about 45 min, we ordered there. I also got a oreo cheesecake which was really good. The sides are really small, I ordered hushpuppies and green beans both were soulful ?

Went to Caplinger’s to try seafood. We tried their special which consisted of two pieces of fish and two sides. I believe the fish is whitefish and it was very good. My sides were fries and Mac and cheese. The fries were spicy, which I was unaware, and I personally did not care for them. Overall everyone enjoyed their meal and side choices. Not an inexpensive place to eat.

We have enjoyed eating Caplingers at least once a month for the last few years. We absolutely love their cod dinner. Tonight's dinner was highly disappointing however. The pieces of fish were very small, barely half the size they usually are. My husband inquired, but they wouldn't compensate. Paid about $30 for one meal and an extra crab cake. Feeling a little ripped off.

I have a friend in from Texas and thought - Caplingers! I had been to the Fresh Catch Seafood Market before, and just LOVED it. We went to the southside location out of convenience, spent around $30.00 for two, (water to drink) and the dissappointment was very high. Long Johns would have been just as good. The Seafood Market location on the Northside of Indy was great; Took my non sea-food eating mom, and even she loved it. However, the location at 7620 Meridian was not so great. The fish and shrimp were overcooked, like it had been fried before, rebattered and fried again. The portions were very small for the price. Neither of our plates were 'fresh' at all. I contemplated grilled, but thought I'd try fried for a change. -Never again. I'm skeptical to even go back to the other location I really enjoyed.

It's been many years since our last visit, and we're sorry it's been such a long lapse. The facility is a combination deli and restaurant, with some really tasty options from which to choose. If one is eating in, one orders up front; and the cooked food is brought to the table. We enjoyed the Caplinger's special and cod dinners; as well as the accompanying baked beans, mac & cheese, hushpuppys, etc. We especially enjoyed (later) the take-out seafood (lots of shrimp) pasta salad, and really delicious smoked salmon dip. Our only suggestion would be that their banana pudding parfait be stronger on the amount of banana pudding, and a bit leaner on the vanilla wafer. All and all, this location is an excellent option, if one is wanting to explore a good seafood selection (both cooked and raw). We definitely won't wait so long again, to partake of their offerings.

So good! Tried gator bites and collard greens for the first time! Delicious!??

Really good food, really long wait!! We ordered at 5:45 and got our food at 6:30… did not expect that. The crew was hustling, I appreciate that, just so many take out orders ahead of us. We ordered the shrimp po-boy-was super yummy, hush puppies with remoulade, green beans and Mac n cheese. All really good. Would definitely go back at a time that is not busy.

I got the catfish dinner. Candied sweet potatoes and collard greens on the side?Delish?Jim got the Perch dinner?Always fresh, by far my favorite seafood restaurant. We ordered to go. We don't like to lick our finger's in public????
