I am a big fan of brewery restaurants. I would rate this one in the middle of the pack as far as ones I have been to. Middle because the beers sampled were very good, but the food was average. We were also a little aggravated because we asked to sit outside, which was not crowed at all with lots of tables available in the shade, and they sat us right smack dab in a totally sunny spot. They said that was the next table in line, which I am sure had to do with server areas and rotation. But still, can’t stations be adjusted for patron comfort, especially when 5 or 6 tables remained totally shaded the entire meal while we all got sunburns at lunch. One reason for sunburn was how slow the service was, despite plenty of servers walking around. No excuse for it. As for the food, the blackened salmon tacos were black because they were overdone. My wife’s friend avocado tacos were better, but not great. So, after the visit all I can recommend is ask to sit inside because outside was not pleasant, or they did not care enough to make it pleasant, and the beer is good. So perhaps stop by for a drink or two and eat elsewhere.
Good choice of beers. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was good. Indoor and outside dining. Great place to stop for dinner and a drink on your way to a concert at Ruoff.Only 20 minutes from the venue. Price very reasonable and the staff was nice and attentive. Highly recommend.
Blind Owl Brewery is a great place to get a drink, watch a game, or get a bite to eat. The atmosphere is lively and gets quite busy on the weekend. There's also plenty to choose from on their menu if you're hungry.
Once again the Blind Owl has reminded me of why they are my go to neighborhood bar and grill. If I could give this place 10 stars I would!! The pretzel fish and chips is the best in the city! Blind owl does it again! That Bison Blue burger was the bomb! Up there with the best in Indy!! Hooray for these guys!! The fish and chips are the best in Indy!!Update - back again for the friday night fish and chips. Once again the Blind Owl does not disappoint. The drinks are spot on! The food is as good as it gets!! And the service was superb!!! Thank you Blind Owl for a great friday night feast!!!!
I am SO grateful for Blind Owl Brewery! It is not only conveniently located for me, but Lisa is the main reason I kept coming back. Her attention to detail with customer service, her quick retention of what your preferences are for food & beverage orders, her genuineness, and friendliness are all qualities that made the difference between me being an occasional customer and a regular. (Lisa would make an amazing trainer for new hires!)I now have a group of buddies I look forward to seeing when I come in. The environment is very friendly and comfortable, and the food is good!
Erin, the bartender, was wonderful. You could tell she really liked taking care of people, and was so welcoming and friendly. I had never stopped here before, and after a 12 hour work day, stopped on a whim. The food was good, the beer was good, the service was excellent.
Best Brewery on the planet, great beers, brilliant food menu in simplicity, quality and volume. The staff are second to none, special shout out to Lisa (best server anyone could wish for and the reason i came back after my first visit, if you’re having a bad day just being around her will make you feel better) and also Jess and all the bar staff (too many to mention). The set up suits all occasions, from serious beer drinker to family dinners and corporate events. The outside beer garden area is fantastic in the summer, with corn hole and boules available …..Try it out you won’t regret it :)
Called to ask for accommodations for someone with a walker. I was told they only take call aheads an hour in advance. When I asked if we could make an exception as it takes this person some time to get ready, I was told they had full bookings. How is that when they only take reservations an hour ahead of time? I was even open to whatever time they could accommodate our needs. Not the first time I have been disappointed by the customer service at this place but it will be the last time.
Stopped in for lunch on a weekday. It was pretty dead, so got seated straight away. Got a house beer, None the Wiser IPA. Decent. Respectable. Nothing fancy, but it'll get the job done. For the meal, I got the Hoot Mess burger. From the description, it was supposed to be all spiced up, but for some reason, it just seemed kinda meh. Not much going on for all the stuff that's on there. Would have been just as happy with a plain cheeseburger. The fries were pretty decent, if a touch over-salted. And they definitely weren't stingy with the fries. In all, it was ok. I wouldn't go out of my way again for it, but I wouldn't be mad if I had it again.
There were 5 of us in the group, and we ordered the queso as an appetizer which was pretty good! However, the other food that was ordered (fish tacos, chicken tenders, steak tacos and salmon tacos) all lacked any sort of seasoning or flavor. A little disappointed in the hype around this location.
