Power went out. Food was late. Bathroom was nasty and it was only one. This place has an opportunity to be very special if they get their act together.
Thereâs no better place in Indy for a date or small group. Our server Kendall was amazing, the food and drink was worth every penny, and the ambiance was like being transported to a club in a big city. Music starts off loud and only gets louder as the night goes on so know this ahead of time and donât book a large party here - definitely a cozy setting. Love, love, loved this place and canât wait to go back for that Fancy AF burger!!

Bar One Fourteen is not just a place to grab a drink. Itâs a place to experience all yours senses. The beverages and food are the entertainment, supported with knowledgeable and attentive staff. This place feels like youâve stumbled upon an exclusive spot in a dark back alley in a large city with a private, posh vibe. Dope beats too. It was a little on the loud side so I had to speak up a bit with my date, but itâs part of the vibe I signed up for and Iâm here for it. If youâre looking for something different than a show or a concert, I highly recommend Bar One Fourteen.

The food and drinks at Bar One Fourteen are wonderful. The music--when you are inside--is amazing. However. When you make a reservation, the restaurant notifies you that you have a two-hour slot. That is fine. On Saturday, we had a 6 pm reservation. Sat down a few minutes before six, and ordered food and drink as soon as someone came over. Drinks took about 30 minutes. First course came out about 45 minutes after we ordered. This pace continued, until it was 8 pm--our two hour limit--but we still were waiting on 3 of our 5 dishes. My spouse and I had each had two drinks in that time. We were served our 3rd dish (salmon) at about 8:10, and as soon as it was gone, were told we would have to leave the dining room and finish our dinner on the sidewalk patio so the next table could sit down. Our main course, therefore, was served up not in the darkened, air-conditioned, high fidelity listening room, but on the sidewalk. With barely an apology or explanation and not an offer of a drink on the house, and we were quickly shuffled away. Our $250 tab already had 18% gratuity added to it. I love local restaurants, love all the Hoover-related places, and recognize how short staffed people are. This does not excuse the way we were treated and unfortunately it will be a long while before we try Bar One Fourteen again. Drinks (when we were able to order them) were delicious. Food (when it arrived) was great. Service left much to be desired.
I didn't have the food, so my score shouldn't count here. But the drinks were fun and different. A little pricey, but this is a cool experience. Would recommend.

The ambiance is great at Bar One Fourteen. Unfortunately, they try too hard to be pretentious and the menu is lacking in depth. Itâs just almost great with a hefty side of snob.
