Ambience - lovely live kitchen ambience, nothing over the top.Price - Not too pricy, worth a visit.Food - Dal Bukhara is a must have, comes pretty close in taste to what I get back home in India.Curries - Really tasty curries especially ghee roast goat curry and butter chicken. The dinner should be ended with their speciality dessert called Orange pudding. Absolutely delicious. The quantity for the appetizers could improve as it was too less in portion.
Great place, clean atmosphere! Malai Kofta was a bit over done. Both the Lassi and puri were delicious! Would highly recommend?
I don't know enough about Northern Indian cuisine to judge authenticity, but it is undoubtedly tasty and I have it on good authority that the cooking style and flavors are indeed true to form.I was told by the wait staff that the meat is halal, but others should verify as I could find no signage in the downtown location nor any claims online (plus, there is a bar in the back). The vegetarian dishes were good enough I'm not sure it will make a huge difference for me, but would love to be able to explore the menu more broadly!
Food was good, service was really pathetic. I’m just gonna call her white brunette/ light brown hair server because she never introduced herself. She never asked us if we wanted something to drink. Never came to ask if we needed something extra or how was the food. My family was leaving but my husband was still sitting there and eating, she came with piece of check paper without even asking if we wanted something else or dessert. We had to tell her that we still wanted to order deserts. We ordered to go 3 moong daal halwa and 3 carrot halwa but when we came home and saw she gave us this (in the picture)which I don’t know what it is. Gratuity was already added in the bill; so, that doesn’t mean that sever doesn’t have to do anything.Complete waste of time and money! You guys lost a customer and future customers!
This is a gold star of all restaurants combined in Midwest. Food prepared is matching to authentic Indian standards. Really you cannot go wrong in ordering any of the dishes. Servers are friendly and warm. We ordered vegetarian items like dahi kababs, peanut kofta, paneer pasanda and kashmiri dum aloo. All three items had unique flavoring, preparation and taste. Go for spicy if you like your food hot. I chose medium spicy and it was on low end of spice level. Place is highly recommended and we hope they open in Chicago soon
The food was really really good! The paneer in paneer tikka was so fresh and soft. The owner is also down to earth and kind!Must try the salty lemonade
Yal!! I don’t know why I waited so long to try Indian food ?! I tried the butter chicken, chicken malai kabab and an eggplant veggie dish that was definitely worthy of a go back! I got the spicy temperature ? mid way so I didn’t burn myself up on my first try ?.The dining area was very clean, management and staff checked on me often to make sure I was happy and good (I couldn’t tell they’ve only worked there a few months!)You should definitely check it out and when you go, be sure to tell them your favorite #travelingfoodieguyde @zonedoutmarkiss sent you and tag me in your pics on IG.I will definitely be going back!
Went for a weekend lunch. The food was delicious. Dishes were prepared in an authentic way and no cream or butter was added to make it thick or sweet. We ordered paneer pasanda and aloo dum kashmiri snd loved the taste of it. Place is spacious and has outdoor seating as well. One negative, they add 18% gratuity to your check irrespective of the size of your party. It was only me and my partner who dined there. Recommend this place.
Newish Indian place on Virginia. Modern, stylish and clean. Big storefront window let’s in lots of bright sunlight. Nice shadowed patio. Many traditional favorites. The cooking style is rich and rustic, a homemade feel with chunks of spices. Try the dal or chicken korma. Many good Indian desserts. My favorite is the carrot halwa. Big portions at reasonable prices. Curries are about $15. Busy and diverse crowd.
We went here twice in the last week because of how amazing the food is!The location is very nice in the heart of downtown in a very upscale and modern restaurant setting. The wait staff are attentive and very helpful. The food is probably the best in indianapolis. Everything we ordered (which was a LOT of different items) had amazing and unique flavors! The portions were sizable! Authentic Indian food with a modern touch. Would definitely come here again
