A coffee shop that believes their associate should be paid a proper wage without the burden falling on the guest. For this reason they do not allow tipping. They're also a grocery store, and their coffees are amazing
Amberson Coffee was a fun and unique coffee shop. The grocery option was a nice touch and the options were limited but quality.I was impressed by some of the fun things they are doing, such as: no paper cups and a no-tip policy. They utilize glass jars for to-go orders and pay decent wages in place of a tip system. Very cool.In terms of the coffee it tastes good and is made with love.I ended up going with a 4-star rating due to the lack of add-on options and a very simple menu.
Went to study with friends and I really like this coffee shop. It was pretty nice and small. It might not be so great for a big group of students to study. But music is very nice, customer services was amazing and for the coffee I recommend you get the hunny latte! It was pretty good. My friends did not like the date latte because it was a bit unsweetened. Overall great place for coffee and shop for meat, cheese and other grocery. Parking space is free. It is also close to downtown. If you need to use the restroom you will need to ask because it is outside. Overall great place for coffee date!
The Date Latte is one of the best cups (jars) of coffee I’ve ever had. A very small space, but it was well staffed and everyone was nice. They don’t ask for tips, which is why they justify the extremely high prices… But even if I tipped 25% I would still be paying less per cup of coffee.
So the best latte was the date latte it did not raised my glucose like any other coffee. The atmosphere is very clean and inviting, my barista was awsome and was very knowledgeable. I lived the experience and the care for nature.
Experts in coffee. The pour over was done perfectly. I tried the hojicha and loved it! Great produce and local grocery selections. Street side parking.
Delicious coffee and French toast!! Service was great, and it's awesome that they pay a living wage. The prices are still very reasonable, and comparable or cheaper than other coffee shops in the area that don't pay a living wage. Will be back!
Stopped in a few days ago after seeing some recommendations for this place. The inside is super cute and clean. They have a small but very nice selection of grocery, snacks, and other specially items. The menu is concise and it didn’t seem like they do many variations from it. There is a choice of whole milk or oat milk, (went with oat of course!!!) I got the date latte after asking the barist’ recommendation and oh my god was it delicious!!! Really quality coffee crafted excellently. He told me they use homemade vanilla syrup, which you could tell by the little black specks in the drink. I definitely plan on going back as it is a nice place to sit and study and I need to try the food! Worth the price especially since they claim to pay their workers a living wage.
I continously have problem with this shop actually 3-5 times I either receive the wrong order or they just put together whatever they have. To make matters WORSE they turn their phone off and say they aren’t accepting phone calls once they send out the wrong order. There is no possible way these reviews on this location are true. Yeah they are true coming from the owners of the restaurant. They charge $7.25 for a 12 ounce pour over coffee which is 3 times more then Starbucks. I ordered honeycomb toast and long and behold for the 3rd time in a row they sent me whatever they had which happened to be avocado toast- HIGHLY ALLERGIC TO AVOCADO! I’ll not let this issue go- avocado should NEVER be a substitute for any food without them contacting you due to the amount of people with allergies. Stop giving this location business and they will start doing their job properly for now they need to close the store down until they are fully stocked up with the 3 or 4 food items they list! Does this look like honeycomb toast ? Which should have Ricotta and honey on it ?? Keep this in mind before spending money here. Your chances of getting the correct food item is less then 30 percent!!
I was having a great time in this coffee until I tried to tip the waitress. The owner saw me and immediately started screaming to me in front of everyone that tipping is not allowed and to put my wallet back in my pocket. I tried to argue with him but he kept screaming "NO TIPS NO TIPS NO TIPS". Unfortunately I had to leave without tipping the kind waitress.
