This was our 3rd time at this place over 12 month. We also appreciate how you offered to go Specials during COVID 19. However, PLAIN rice was THE only thing that was GOOD this time. We hate to say that but we have experience with rice Biryani but this time it was a mix of lots of uncut sweet onion, mushy and clearly out of this world, and bell paper with some chicken masala tossed together to call it Biryani. We will come back for Gulaab Jamoon in rose water sweet, plain rice and Naans, OK?
No more buffets. Its like all the Indian restaurants in Indiana decided to abuse the pandemic and take away the buffets. Used to be one of my favorite places to eat. They need to get over it. Buffets are clearly running and open elsewhere. Just not with the Indian restaurants like Amber. Hopefully they go back to serving a buffet one day.
First time ordering from this location. Samosa was very oily and order curry chicken which was very dry and ck biryani was not even spicy the way I ordered it. Compare to the other Location in Carmel, they did a wonderful job with my meal.
Substantial, ethereal, spicy, lovely. Best Indian food I’ve had in quite a while. The tandoor chicken is 10/10. I ordered on dee hub but I’m going in person next time because I am dazed and rocked right now. Absolutely sickening, but in the best way possible.
First of all - it is not at all "welcoming" as mentioned in their own description. Food is okay but the thing that I hate with them is that - when I place on order they don't typically ask the spice level I would want. I wanted it to be spicy and they made it medium spicy, when I was at the restaurant to pick it up - I enquired. He said he will make it spicy but fortunately since that I understand the language they speak I got to know they didn't change the spice level at all, upon which they were making jokes.Second thing about this restaurant is that - I ordered malai kofta1 hr before they close the kitchen - yet the curry that I ordered was very watery. They might not have enough of the dish that I ordered and so they poured water into it and made it up. I would have preferred to have something else over eating that water mixed in malai kofta.Regardless of taste of food that we see at the restaurant - it is the way they treat their customers that frustrates me.Edit - 5.21.22 - I have ordered something today and they didn't even ask me if I would like to have it mild, medium or spicy, they hung up the call before even I could finish. It is so frustrating. I have to eat something that I can't enjoy eating and still pay for it.
Very good food,friendly service.
Very bad food made me sick would not recommend this restaurant
Great experience every time!
Friendly staff, tasty chicken vinaloo, horrible over cooked tandoori shrimp. The shrimp was clearly grilled on a skewer maybe days ago then tossed with a few fresh shrimp and a ton of undercooked onion BUT the edible shrimp had great flavor. The naan was underwhelming and stale. Cleary not made fresh then reheated. The paneer taste like nothing. The rice was fragrant and paired well with the vinaloo. Definitely not worth what I paid for lunch to-go.
I usually don’t leave bad reviews until I have tried a restaurant couple of times. The ownership has changed 2-3 years back. Tried food last year mixed up the dishes, thats fine it happens but the preparation was not how its supposed to be. Using too much turmeric in kadai chicken and not cooked properly left a bad taste. Even asked what was this i got a reply this is how its cooked, OK.Thought of giving it a second try. Went there last week and same thing happened. Ordered chole bhature and bhature were so thick and weird and other vegetables seemed inedible. I suggest you guys change the cook or look for some other profession. Wont be wasting my money again here. This is not how you cook Indian food.
