Breakfast American Soup

An early Friday evening dinner brought me here. I had viewed the menu online and ordered my meal as soon as I was seated. I chose the Country Fried Steak with French fries, and had both smothered in a delicious cream gravy. Everything was hot, fresh and excellent. Each meal also included soup (I chose the Clam Chowder), a house salad, bread and your choice of a desert. For desert they offered rice pudding, bread pudding or ice cream. The bread pudding was delicious. Great food, great service, and very reasonable prices. They also had a very impressive breakfast menu. I will definitely be visiting them again on my next trip.

I visited here with my family when we were passing through on a road trip. Upon looking at the menu online, I was hopeful because there is a ton of different things. We chose to go here based on the menu. It started out okay, as we got seated within 15 minutes of arriving on a Saturday night. As we got seated, I noticed that the floors of the restaurant were dirty, as well as other tables that were unoccupied. Our table was by the kitchen. Within the first few moments we all noticed we could hear the kitchen staff and waitresses swearing at each other. It wasn’t a huge deal, but definitely unsettling. I could also see inside the kitchen; the floors were very dirty there as well. When our waitress came by to take our orders, she listed off the soups that were available, as most of us got a bowl of soup with our meals. When my sister ordered the chicken noodle soup, one of them that she listed, she said “did I say chicken noodle? We don’t have chicken noodle.” That was just very weird to us. It’s like she just listed off random ones and didn’t bother actually checking to see which ones they had. I will also mention that there were six soups listed on the menu, but only two were available. She brought out our soups and salads. The soup we all got, lemon rice, wasn’t good but it might have just been my personal tastes. The salads were very disappointing. It was a handful of iceberg lettuce with a few onion curls and two small tomatoes. One of the tomatoes that my aunt got on her salad was literally rotting, with black specks on and in it. The waitress then assured us that our entrees wouldn’t take long. We were sitting there for at least another 40 minutes, listening to the staff swear at each other. At this point I was disappointed and uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. And we almost did, but figured we already sat here long enough that we might as well wait for the entrees, even though at this point I wasn’t even that hungry anymore. The entrees finally came. My dad ordered breakfast foods, and he reported it was all cold. I ordered a club sandwich that I asked for no mayonnaise on, but guess what? There was mayo on it. My aunt ordered a gyro sandwich that was supposed to have fries with it, but they didn’t bring fries. The waitress left immediately after bringing the food and I had to flag her down to tell her my sandwich had mayo on it. She just stared at me. She didn’t even automatically offer a new one, I had to ask to get another one the way I ordered it. She hesitantly took the plate from me, when my aunt mentioned to her that she was supposed to have fries with her gyro. She walked away and brought back a new sandwich for me with no mayo, and this was the only time we heard her apologize. She didn’t even acknowledge that my aunt asked for the fries that she was supposed to get with her meal. She never brought syrup for my dad’s cold pancakes either. The food was mediocre at best. The gravy and stuffing for the turkey dinner that my mom got was fatty and disgusting. But overall, the food wasn’t absolutely terrible, but not good either. We finished our food and sat there for another 15 minutes. We literally had to flag her down and ask her to bring us our bill, even though some of our meals came with desserts. We just wanted to get out of there at that point. My aunt mentioned to her that she never got her fries, nor did she ever bring syrup for my dads pancakes. The waitress just stared at us. She didn’t apologize or offer a discount. She literally just stared, and walked away. We sat there flabbergasted, wondering how you can just walk away after you forgot so many things. Another thing to mention is that the waitress never checked on us one time while we were eating. We always had to just flag her down. The bill was over $60. She forgot an order fries and two of us had desserts that came with meals that we didn’t have. Even with all of the complications, we never got a discount or was never offered one. Nor were we given an apology. I don’t know if we just caught this place on a bad day, but we were strongly d

I had a tasty Cajun Catfish dinner, which included soup, salad but they forgot to give our table bread. (Not that I really needed the calories) Even my 4 yr old grandson ate his meal without a problem. They gave him lidded cups for both his water and juice. Pleasant staff.

Although we got there mad late and close to closing, they still allowed us to come in and dine. Maybe they saw the look of desperation on our faces?!? Lol. Either way, the service was professional and very efficient. The food was great. They had a wide range of things to choose from. It being Lent, there were Lenten specials also. Our server was very knowledgeable and was able to answer every question my mother or aunt had. To show how diverse the menu is, my aunt had the Perch special which came with soup and salad, my mom chose Enchiladas, and I had the Turkey, Ham, and Bacon Club with fries. I wish I had taken pics for y'all. Everything came out as ordered, and fast. We were the last to leave but they in no way rushed us. They were very kind and every last one of the staff, from the front of the house to the back of the house (cook staff and cleaning staff), were amazing. At the late hour, one could see everyone was tired, yet their customer service skills are to be exemplified.

Solid, decent food. But look at the amount of cheese on these deepfried mushrooms.. it's carnival quality

Sometimes the food is good sometimes it’s not…hit or miss..Lately it’s been not so good…called about an issue with my order…I told the manager about my issue with my order that was over-cooked and how i couldn’t go back for my eggs…manger said i could come bac the next day for 2 fresh eggs..ummm no that’s ok, I ordered a meal smh….I’m tired of giving my money to (expensive breakfast at that) restaurants for “maybe it will be good not maybe it won’t”).. so i’m done…this was suppose to be sunny side up ?‍♂️

It’s always been a good breakfast diner. Nothing fancy just simple and good. I had the skirt steak and eggs, wheat toast and coffee. They do know how to grill a steak rare and the meat is not a tough old leathery cow.

A safe choice for a good breakfast at an affordable price. Their stuffed French toast is one of my favorite items on the menu. Solid pancakes, good skillets. Didn’t care for steak and eggs. The coffee is pretty good. Service is 100% better in the AM in my experience so I usually don’t have dinner here.

This place has the BEST chicken lemon rice soup. It is so, so good. Haven't found any other restaurant that comes even remotely close to it. It's definitely worth the trip just to try it, however, the rest of their food is awesome as well.

Food was not well cooked. My 6 year old can make a better sandwich. First time trying the place out since it seems really popular and it is my last. Food had no taste maybe they had a new hire but definitely disappointed.
