everything was great !! the cook was funny and made it a pleasant time for my daughter and granddaughters birthday!! we shall return
Not great food. I have had better Hibachi. Every bill has a 18% gratuity already included. I believe you should always tip for good service even so so service is tip worthy. Our sever was rude and wanted to argue with our table on who could order what. Its was a strange and frustrating time. Think twice about this place. Much better Hibachi, sushi and service somewhere else.
You walk in and are met by a lot of hand written signs, none of which are very welcoming. There was a wait for the hibachi table, so we sat at a regular table. The server seemed to always be in a hurry. I ordered a bloody Mary, which tasted like lemon vodka with a little tomato juice and water. It was gross. They let me switch it out for another drink, but still charged the higher price of the gross attempt at a bloody Mary. The ginger dressing on the salad wasn't very good. The broth soup was not good at all. I couldn't eat it. The sushi tasted all right, but it didn't seem to be rolled very well, as it all fell apart very easily. They automatically charge an 18% gratuity at the hibachi. Their prices were higher than what I'm used to paying for better quality sushi. It seemed like they bought a nicer restaurant, then cut all the corners on everything else. They had cleaning products set out in plain site. It just wasn't a great experience. I wish we'd gone anywhere else for mother's day.
all I can say is every thing was amazing, everything was great. their salad dressing is out of this world. food cooked perfectly, I have never had scallops, they were awsome. we live 1 hour away in brown County, we will be back, and bringing some family with us. thank you for such good service :)
We had an enjoyable and tasty lunch.
We were near Greenwood Mall and decided to dine at the Kumo Japanese Steakhouse on a whim. Glad we did. We were seated promptly at one of the Hibachi tables. Since we were dining for two, we were paired with a party of six, two of whom were celebrating birthdays. Someone came by promptly to provide us with waters, took drink and salad orders around the table. The salad was available with the traditional Ginger dressing or a choice of Ranch. I chose the Ranch and found it, and the salad delicious. The soup was also very good. Our drink orders came just after the soup and salads arrived and waters and beverages were topped off as needed by a server who was there when needed but also not havering. As the salad plates and soup bowls were being cleared, our Hibachi Chef arrived. Our main course entrees we're confirmed by the chef and the Hibachi show began with the egg tossing and the onion volcano. The Chef was pleasant and entertaining. He then prepared the entrees for the table guested and the food was delicious. The other party with the birthdays got a whole Birthday Cake. Great time and delicious food. Would recommend. They also serve an array of Sushi Rolls which appeared to be enjoyed by the customers that ordered them.
This place has always been very good. I am boring and always get the chicken hibachi, but it is very delicious. The ginger dressing on the salad is good but they do saturate it most of the time, they have the option now to get ranch dressing instead. If you go during their lunch hours they do not really do a big show for you on the grill like they do for their dinners, but still do little quirks that will make you smile.***Just as a heads up, they do change an 18% gratuity fee for hibachi which isn't a deal breaker.***
We went here for the first time on Monday for my Son's Birthday. Not worth the 18% gratuity ($52) or being yelled at over and over for having 2 more people than we thought...we didnt add the 2 small children by mistake onto our total number of people and let the server know as we we sat down but the hostess told us more than once if we ever done this again we would not be seated the next time. The food was decent but that put a damper on the evening out for my Son's 16th Birthday
I just thought that I never made a post about my favorite restaurant. I really don't post that much at all. KUMO IS AMAZING. I'm admittedly pretty frugal. But they offer amazingly prepared and fresh food. And it's very very fair the prices they charge. Honestly I feel like they could afford to charge a little more. Just because you can tell the very subtle differences in flavor and seasoning from time to time.To me, that's important. They have chefs who will have slightly different palates prepare the food, and it shows creativity and personalization. It's not just prepared and commercialized.Literally every time I go the wait stuff is very professional and timely. The chefs are fantastic and the sushi and beverage choices are incredible.I love Kumo so much and I'm happy to be a regular there.
The food, atmosphere, and service is amazing. Highly recommend!
