Best value for awesome food!!!!
I'm a trucker. Was parked at the Pilot during a 34 hour reset. Saw the "fresh homemade food" sign and decided to check them out cause truck stop food is....BLAHHH!! Ordered a 6piece LARGE shrimp and a gyro plate. There was nothing homemade about my meal!! The shrimp were micro and rubbery, not large and the fries were old and limp. I gave them 2 stars cause the gyro plate was halfway decent or I was just really hungry. If you like mediocre, low quality food, give them a shot. They won't get my business anymore though.
Well it was tasty but my burrito had no cheese or rice or beans just a ton of ground beef nd some veg but i said no onions because im allergic and it was loaded with onions didn't notice until I got back to my truck long walk and it was so big and grease wouldn't stay together even after picking out all the onions.The menu is a bit weird needs detail.I know they are new but they need to get more organized.
WOW this food was horrible!!!! What an insult to the city of Gary's signature sandwich. Look at this white roast beef like it has been boiled in water and the sandwich wasn't even grilled.... SMH, Also ordered a chilli cheese hotdog combo meal and combo meals don't come with drinks.... Where they do that at?? The hotdogs were swimming in cheese and the buns were hard how does that happen, and i know that wasn't chili what was that??? Ordered onion rings that had no onions in them just fried cornbread batter. So the verdict is this place sucks and to disrespect the steel worker like that is bogus. Philly steak and Mr. goodys have nothing to worry about!
I'm gonna give my honest opinion. For WHAT THIS PLACE IS... It deserves five stars. Fast service, everything we ate was juice and delicious. I'm eating the gyro from the fridge a day later and let me tell you I can never finish one from somewhere else... I'm eating the entire thing, it's not greasy and has a good flavor. The burgers are great, I get mine "disassembled" as I call it because I don't want the veggies making it soggy so I only get cheese, meat and bread and everything else in a container. They did it no questions asked and separated everything from the mustard to the mayonnaise.The Candied Grapes are amazing, had them for a late night snack. Get them I promise you're going to love them.OH and the ITALIAN BEEF??????? WHAAAAAAT?! In GARY?! I want to talk like a (expletive) but I can't because they will probably delete my review but the ITALIAN BEEF?!........ Best Italian Beef in THE NW Indiana area, get it DRY. We moved out here from Chicago 7 years ago and that is the best, biggest and cheapest Italian Beef we've had out here. We don't even get Italian Beefs out here BECAUSE of the garbage quality.Also My wife gave the Burrito a 5 Star as well and we go to every Mexican place out here. All in all this is am AMAZING place, no seating so sit in your car or just wait they are really quick if there isn't anyone there. We came sitting in the empty, open parking lot and ironically everyone followed. I NEVER make reviews of this place but this one deserves it for Gary. Great place, great service, friendly people and most importantly, I stress AMAZING food. No lie, it's fire fire. I hope this place does not go out of business and whatever the problem was they had that was getting them bad reviews is fixed.
I enjoyed the pork chop sandwich today. It was fantastic and huge. Not sure who the cashier was but he was very kind and funny. He had on yellow Crocs. I would definitely visit again
We ordered a jerk steak taco it was amazing !!!! It was the size of a burrito !!!!!! We have had many other things off the menu and loved everything!!! Service is fast and friendly
Awesome. It's their GRAND OPENING! We were greeted with a warm smile and very clean esthetic! I could not wait to open the bags and take pictures of our food. It was cooked fresh and that's a plus!! We ordered a 4 piece wing (lemon pepper) and they are whole wings with a ton of shoe string fries. We also ordered a lamb gyro, it is huge!! And of course the chi style hot dogs, and they are beef yay!! We live in Alabama, but we are born and raised Chicagoans so this was a treat to find this little gem on the corner of the TA truck stop. J&J fish were not open and we are glad because we would have missed great food. Check the pics out!
I don't like to complain but when I called to tell them about our order, he hung up on me. The food was cold. The hotdogs were shriveled like they had been in the water too long.Never again ?
The cashier was cool but the food is not worth the prices. I had the chicken philly..they use the wrong bread so within my 3min drive home it was already soggy and the veggies were wilted leading me to believe they weren't fresh in the first place. The chicken was dry and crumbled smh the sandwich completely fell apart as soon as I picked it up. I'm guessing if they put cheese at all it was very little and must have been on the bread only because I couldn't see it or taste it at all. The fries were soggy, cold and hard all at the same time reminding me of day old McDonald's fries...yuck! All the same went for my kid's food which were a cheeseburger and fries and the nacho fries. I had very high hopes for this place because it's right down the street from me and I wanted a better alternative to the usually greasy, poorly prepared food at the lemonade place across the street but it's a little worse. I don't like to pay for food I can make better at home. They and new so I will be giving them one last chance in a month or so, maybe then they will have either trained the cook or hired someone with more experience. Sadly Im disappointed and dissatisfied.
