Great food and service oh my second spot in like to go to on lake beside Vibrantion. There food selection and D & K is great health and delicious..?
I went here for the first time hoping to find a place in Gary with some healthy options which they did have but the portions were very skimpy and not like on the menu the egg rolls were Extremely GREASY to the point the paper bag was soaked and it even soaked the other paper bags it was so greasy that after eating one I got a major headache would not recommend. Non the less the egg rolls were large. The rice was very bland no seasoning no flavor at all, the macaroni was nice not a strong flavor but it was nice wasn't watery and was pretty good. The jerk chicken was ok it didn't taste much like jerk chicken and the portion was very small I have about 6 little pieces sprinkled around the bowl so that was very disappointing especially for almost 12$ but I do try and support our black owned business, last the peach cobbler was very good and it was the only thing I can say I had no problem with , it definitely tasted home made. I would recommend larger portions and also not so greasy food, and maybe a little seasoning unless none requested otherwise. With this being my first time and not having the best experience would I go back yes but it will be a while for sure. Also this is my 3rd time actually try to try there food and patronize there business on the days they claim to be open and was in fact closed . I would still try it out but maybe get something other then what I ordered.

We have stopped thru this resturant 2xs now and by far this is the BEST place for whatever you choose on the menu we come thru when we are on our way home from visiting friends in Michigan we can't wait to go back...YOUR friends from Rockford, Illinois
Heard much about..Ordered salmon. It was not done, was horrible and no type of vegetable came with. Totally wasted my money!
The food is great actually, with the exception of the macaroni (bland), but this business is unreliable. I choose to come on Sundays because they have certain food that’s only available on Sunday. This is my second time driving 20+ minutes on a Sunday to get here and they’re closed. I called yesterday (Saturday) to make sure they were going to be open and I was told they’ll be open till 5pm. I get here at 230 pm and they’re closed for a private event. Your staff didn’t know about this event?? Because it could’ve prevented me from driving out here on a Sunday, with my kids, for nothing! At least update your google hours or social media. Like I said the food isn’t bad, but the macaroni could be better and the dressing could be sold during the week. Why sell soul food during week and leave out dressing smh. I won’t drive out my way to come here again.
