I was craving some saucy food today, so I decided to give this place a fair try. It’s a rather local place, so I definitely wanted to swing by. After you walk inside, it seems to be more of a to-go place, rather than a sit-down restaurant. I browsed the large menu they had up top and placed an order.I ordered the Rib Tip/Hot Link Combo (Large), which included Fries for $17.25. I also got 3 Jerk Chicken Tacos for $8.00 and a Large Mac and Cheese for $5.75. The cashier told me 15-20 minutes for my order. I found a chair and began to wait. There were a medley of people waiting around for their food as well. I’d say their operation with that is sloppy. My food ended up taking about half an hour it seemed. I took it home with the anticipation of finding a great new place.Well, the Rib Tip/Hot Link Combo sure was heavy. Heavy doesn’t win the race, though. The Rib Tips were infested with fat on just about all of them. They just weren’t worth the digging. They had a faded, smoky flavor. The few bites I managed to scoundrel were okay, but the labor didn’t add up to the reward. The Hot Link was pretty good. I liked the spice it gave off and it was a really good size. The Fries weren’t too bad. They had barbecue sauce on them all and it added a bit of flavor. They also gave a piece of bread in the Combo. It was decent. The Mac and Cheese was pretty plain. It had better moments with the thicker areas of cheese melted on the Mac. I feel they could have gave more for the price. The Jerk Chicken Tacos were right on the line of average for me. The Chicken aspect was not the most flavorful with a distant breeze of heat. The vegetables were fresh, so that helped out a lot.The service wasn’t too friendly. The cashier seemed to belittle me as I was ordering and nothing was warm about the encounter.Overall, the price, service, and quality don’t reflect well in my opinion. I love trying new places, but unfortunately this one isn’t worth a second visit for me. Maybe someone else will appreciate it more than I did.Date of Visit: 5/26/22

I had a Baby-Q theme for my baby shower last Sunday and ordered all of my meat from Big Daddy’s BBQ. The lady on the phone was very helpful with how much I should order and what meat to order for the amount of people coming. I ordered 2 pans on rib tips, 1 pan pulled pork, and 1 pan mixed bbq chicken. Everything was ready for pick up on time and fresh! Everyone was coming up to me complimenting the food and asking where I got it from. You guys killed it! Thank you!❤️

Thought it would be a good meal but we were pretty disappointed. When you get out of the car and you do not smell barbecue then it's probably not going to be very good; means the pit's not cooking fresh. The BBQ chicken was the driest I've ever eaten. Couple of guys got the beans and coleslaw and sounds like they were pretty good. Had the collard greens but no pepper sauce in sight; sounds like folks up this way don't even know what that is. On a positive note, great people, friendly and had that great Southern hospitality.

so I do door dash on my spare time and picked up an order from here. So decided to try it today with my hubby. omg Everything and I do mean EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. Will make the drive from Chicago again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I have bought the rib tips many times before and they were consistently good, but it is hit or miss now! You never know what you are going to get. Sometimes, they are so tough; sometimes you get very few tips and lots of fries. Maybe, 1 or 2 out of 5 times, they it right. Really, tired of going from Calumet City to Gary and ending up with a meal that has to be thrown out!

Big Daddys are hit or miss. Each time i ask did you label the hot one and mild and im told yes.I get home and its no.Sometime their meaty sometimes a lot of bones. But the sauce never will disappoint you.Customer service remain friendly but dont just say yes to rush me.The establishment is always clean. The special went up but everything has. And,the menu has more items.

yesterday ordered 2 small tips with mixed sauce. Got home to hammond and had hardly any sauce but was so greasy abd meat full if fat and the fries were not fully cooked. ive been coming to this location for years and thus was my first bad experience. On top of that it wasn’t even busy.
