I’m glad this location is open again. I went to the drive thru this evening 1 hour before closing and my food was hot and fresh. The coke i had was super crisp.
Went to grab shakes and had to order online the person was very snarky about informing us about this. Also the fact they use cardboard straws for shakes is terrible idea, it altered the flavor to be so unappetizing.
I really love Steak'n Shake, but...Since the pandemic, the experience has changed. Before, it was like enjoying a hometown diner. Affordable and great tasting food served on plates, with a friendly smile of your server. Now, they finally opened the dining area inside, and it looks the same, but the experience is very different. The great tasting food is the same, but now served in baskets. The servers are gone and you place your orders at a kiosk.I will not let this stop me from returning for the food, but it has lost part of what I enjoyed about going there, the total experience.
My partner occasionally craves their fries, when they're fresh. They never are, and they don't fill the container either. Our shakes didn't even fill the cup, much less the comical dome top- they might as well have just put a flat lid on. I had the hot dog, which was okay, and the burger my partner ordered was okay as well. Stale, limp fries and underfilled shakes are a poor offering for a place known for their fries and shakes. Add on the burgers being anything less than exceptional and there's really no saving grace here. The service is polite, but incredibly slow. For how long it takes to get food, you'd think it would at least be fresh.
Steak 'n Shake is but a shadow of its once bustling former self. Tables & floors could use some attention. But, what really caught me off guard is nothing bad about the restaurant, I had a flash back to 'Back to the future' the diner in the future with arcade games that you needed to use your hands to play, like the claw game sitting on the back right wall, automated systems the minute you walk in, to the old fashioned uniforms. With a small twist... this could easily become that movie cinema diner in but a heartbeat!Food still tastes great! Will be coming again with more imagination!
The workers there were really nice to my friends and I. This lady worker was so nice and sweet! The strawberry milkshake was amazing and so were the fries lol. My friends and I like to hangout there since I live close by. Purr slay queen
Very disappointing. We were literally the only customers in the whole place. After we walked in, not a single worker acknowledged us. No servers, so we had to order our food on the computers. It was like a ghost town. A young lady brought us our food, and she was nice, but that was the only interaction we ever had with staff. Tables, floor, counters, and bathroom were all unattended.
The Manger of the day shift that guy rocks super nice he didn't mess up my order I will be coming back need to check out
The service was not necessarily impressive.
If it's 3 O'clock in the morning and your absolutely plastered then this is your go to hangout meet all your fellow loud and proud alcoholics at your local Steak N Shake. Just make sure to tip your waitress very good after she cleans up your vomit....
