We DO NOT RECOMMEND!! TOTALLY RUDE!! So I had the rudest customer service at Sakura on W Jefferson for the second and last time! It’s Friday 5/27/22 and my husband and I were suppose to go out for dinner. But we were tired from long weeks of preparing for OPEN HOUSE and graduation for our senior. So we decided to order carryout instead. So I had a nail Appt in Apple Glen at my favorite place AK Spa so I decided to order from out West. Sakura USED to a place that we enjoyed. Until tonight. I called and tried to put my order in after studying the menu. I decided on the Surf and Turf which was a filet with lobster, and two sushi rolls. One of the sushi rolls had lobster in it, the Samurai. When I called a lady answer. I said “I’d like to place a carryout order.” She said “What can we get you?” I said “Surf and Turf.” She said “What?” So I repeated it again. Again she didn’t hear me so she passed the phone to another gentleman. He was very nice and said “How can I help you?” I said “I’d like to place a carryout order.” He said “Ok no problem.” So I stared my order again with Surf and Turf. He said “I’m so sorry, but we are out of lobster.” I said “No, really!!” I said “I was going to order the Samurai sushi roll with lobster too!!” He says “I know, I’m so sorry!!” I said “I have to look at your menu again, since that changed everything!!” I will call you back, once I look at the menu again.” “He said ok sounds good.” So I look at the menu again and call back. I decided to try two rolls we had not had before. A lady answer the phone. I believe she was the same one that answered the first time. She said “Sakura’s.” I said “I’d like to place a carryout order.” She said “go ahead.” I said “I’d like to try the Dynamite and Sakura roll, are those pretty good?” She said “I don’t know.” You could tell she was annoyed. I said “Have you not had them before?” She said “No.” Again short and with annoyance. I said “Is there anyone there that may know?” She said “We are really busy, if you don’t know what you want to order, call back.” I hung up on her! We would of at least spent $100 for carryout there last night! I’ve encounter her before and called back and had to talk to the manager about her attitude and customer service. I work at Club Soda, a fine dining restaurant downtown for 14 years. Before that Catablu for 12 years. Another fine dining restaurant and I never answered the phone or treated guest like that or like the were annoying me! I am now a Realtor with RE/MAX Results and I take clients there from time to time and also meet colleagues there for meetings. My husband and I also go out to eat a lot and order carryout. I try to support local, but this is the lack of respect that you get from some of these restaurants! I ended up going to two different of our favorite restaurants, Hans Dynasty and Umi’s for our dinner carryout so that we could still have a nice dinner. Both restaurants were very pleasant when I called to place the orders and even more pleasant when i arrived! I topped each person that took my order $10 each. Even though both bills were $40 and under and told them how much I appreciate them! When I got home and told my husband he said “Wow!!” “I guess they don’t want our business anymore and we won’t be going back!!” So we DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
The food is always good. The only reason it's not 5* is a small issue. Sometimes the rolls are too fat. I can't fit the whole thing in my mouth, but if I split the piece in two, I don't get all the flavors.
Food is amazing. Comes out fast and hot. So good! Even good if you take it home and heat it up the next day
This is always my go to here in Fort wayne typically excellent service! Warm friendly atmosphere, super thorough with details and quality of the meal. however last night we made a To go order...ordered over 100 bucks worth of food for my family. I go to pick the order up and see and unfamiliar face so when she hands me the food I ask is this all because we order from here often and typically it's in two seperate bags.....she insists no just the one bag I pay go home! I get home and realize I'm missing food I call and she answers the phone and basically tells me to come pick up the other bag like it was our fault! No apology nothing for first dismissing me when I asked specifically about a possible other bag then the inconvenience of having to drive back time and gas .....So I get there and ask for a few extra clear soups lol she writes up and order I pay and sit and wait !!!! Not sure who she was but please not that experience again!
Buyer BEWARE!I am so not one to write reviews but our experience was so horrible that I could not have it on my conscious to not warn y’all.1) the most unprofessional staff. Husband picked up order and asked *very rude* hostess if she checked the order several times and she lied. Many pieces of our order were missing.2) Refused to refund order. Refused to work with us. Refused to make it right. Argued some of our items that were missing (soup and salad) were complimentary and don’t deserve to be refunded (I guess I get that? I just really wanted my soup and salad)3) Call from someone claiming to be a “general manager” who was rude and very unprofessional. To be fair, she did refund a small part of our order.4) the rolls that we did receive were awful. Messy, rolled so loosely that you couldn’t pick them up. Tasted like OLD FISH.Sakura, you should be embarrassed.Other Fort Wayne sushi eaters, STICK TO ASAKUSA!!!
Went there with a group on New Year’s Eve. I ordered the filet mignon. Took one bite and could tell it was barely, if even, rare. I sent it back to have them put it back on the hibachi grill. When it came back the small pieces where around medium rare but the larger pieces where rare. I took it home to cut a couple open and they were dark, dark red. It was a wasted $25 dollars and to many better places. I’ve order filet from the place on Lima Rd, forty plus times and never had an issue. Would chalk it off to being busy but they weren’t even half full. We will never go back.
This is a hidden jem.Great service, great food and a great atmosphere.If you want true authentic food...this is please to go...I really couldn't find a single thing wrong with our experience..which is rare.Definitely try this place out.
Absolutely one of the BEST restaurants in Fort Wayne. The atmosphere is wonderful, the wait staff are always spot on, and the food is consistently prepared fresh and extremely well. We've eaten here every other week or so for the past 4-5 years and haven't had a bad experience or food yet.**I took an out-of-town friend for lunch to Sakura today (11-16-21), and not much has changed since I originally wrote this review. Service was awesome, the bento box I had was top notch and the atmosphere was relaxing and just perfect. These 3 pictures were from lunch today.
Our family's favorite restaurant. Food never disappoints, our waitress knows us and my cocktails. We are there almost weekly! We bring all our friends and loved ones to this establishment because we know they will be taken care of. :)Always recommend.
Outside is deceiving...its a very nice atmosphere inside with extremely friendly staff. Quick service and most importantly amazing food!!!!! I'm surprised there isn't a line out the door every time I go!
