When Q House opened, it was run by a lovely young couple with a small boy who would sit at a table and play while his parents worked. The food was excellent as was the service. No more. They appear to be gone. Yesterday evening my husband and I ordered dinner to bring home. Among my favorite dishes through the years have been their curry chicken and curry shrimp which I have enjoyed many times. The "curry shrimp" we ordered last night was devoid of sauce, seasoning and even salt. It was mostly sauteed onions and shrimp. We tried to make the best of it, seasoning it ourselves but could not bring ourselves to continue eating it. I called the restaurant. Mistakes happen, right? The person I spoke to said that they made these dishes with a sauce and would not accept that ours had been left. out. When I attempted to tell her we were longtime customers and I knew what the dish was supposed to taste like, she looked up the cell number we had used to place the order and told me they had no record of our ever having placed orders there (we have used several different numbers over the years). Finally, she told me to bring the food back today and they would remake it or refund my money. When I entered the restaurant with their food bag, the person at the window immediately walked away and brought another woman back. She apparent knew the details and first informed me that we had called an hour and a half after picking up the order and the sauce must have "settled" to the bottom. I showed her the food and that there was no sauce. Then she insisted that that is the way they always make this dish. I gave her details of what the restaurant was like pre-Covid, that I had eaten this dish many times and I knew it wasn't supposed to be like what we had received. She then told me she had never seen me there before (I don't think I've ever seen her, either) and that I was lying. Since we had eaten some of the dish, she said the best she could do was make a smaller portion. As that is now "the way they always make it", I requested a partial refund. She agreed. We will not be back. A restaurant that used to have great food and service no longer has either. By the way, our last few trips in, we have noticed that it is no longer busy - perhaps this is why.
They had a box of Chicken on the ground that they took a giant spoon and used it to make orders. The floor did not look clean. It's almost as dirty as Peking in George Town Square.
Absolutely love their beef with broccoli, fried rice, egg drop soup and crab rangoon.
The food is great as long as you don’t care what you get!Somehow tonight instead of what we ordered, we got two portions of cashew chicken and two of the three people in my family either don’t like nuts, or can’t eat themI was looking forward to curried beefBetween the language barrier and the lightning fast-paced East-German border ethos at the counter, you get what they give you
Food quality is inconsistent. Used to be a great place, but the past 2 visits have been subpar.
We've made it a yearly tradition to order take out from here around Christmas every year.
great food great price. have been going here for the last decade and it is my preferred Chinese carryout place
Very friendly, safety conscious staff. Excellent food, you get a lot for the price.
Very disappointed with the food. We got Chicken fried rice and Kung Pao Chicken both of them are not good, there is no flavor.
We live nearby and this is our go-to takeout spot. It’s fast, yummy, and the total with all tips and fees comes around $20 for two people every time. Highly recommended
