Amazing service at this location. The gentleman calling orders was top notch, friendly, funny and welcoming. Made the kids smile. Worth a stop for a unique diner experience. Fries are good and always fresh, burgers are above average for fast food. Not quite as good as I remember fromthe original Chicago location but still fun to experience.
First time here on 6-9-22. Great looking 50's - 60's Chicago style diner with Chicago style dogs, beef and sausage sandwiches, hot dogs, polish sausage sandwiches, burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads and more. I had the italian beef and sausage sandwich dipped in gravy. And when I say dipped I mean they dipped the whole sandwich in gravy. It was wet, sloppy and absolutely delicious..! You can also get it dry with gravy on the side. I suggest having it fully dipped though. First time ever having Chicago style food. And man was it the bomb. It also had peppers on it. I want another one soon. Great friendly, clean place. They even serve beer..! Thanks Portillo's for a great Chicago dining experience..!?
First time eating here, not sure that I will go back. I was looking forward to a coney dog and chili cheese fries… as I was going to take my first bite I noticed the chili had beans in it ? I am allergic to beans… had I known about the beans I would have ordered something different. My dinner partner was more than happy to eat my meal while I went and ordered chicken strips, which were pretty tasty. I did not care for their ordering and pick up process nor the fact that your food comes in a bag - like you were taking everything to go and I sure didn’t like having to buy two meals for just me… had there been waitresses I for sure would have asked if the chili had beans …gosh what did I like about Portillo’s ?
Excellent location with fast & friendly customer service both Inside and out. Has a classic 50’s vibe with plenty of options for everyone. I love the Italian beef and getting it dipped is my favorite way. The chocolate cake shake is a Portillo’s must do as well. This location is convenient and does the brand proud

The brats are to die for I visit here when I'm on this side of town. Just make sure you don't spill a chocolate cake shake in your back seat you'll likely never get the stains out. Food is really good. Fast, Fresh, and hot!
Good food and excellent staff! Loved the venue - 50s diner vibe from the decor to the music! It's an order at the counter place and stand and wait for your food but other than that we enjoyed our experience there! A staff member came by and bussed our table for us which was very sweet! I had the Greek chicken salad and it was very good. The only downside was they have plastic utensils and it was hard to cut the chicken into bite sized pieces. Husband had a cheeseburger, hot dog and the crinkle fries. The fries were perfectly salted and very yummy. The burger was fresh and had lots of nice fresh toppings. The hot dog was delicious and not too salty. If you get everything on it it's basically a Chicago dog. Can't wait to go back and try the portobello mushroom burger!
Got the spicy chicken sandwich. Was absolutely delicious. Also ordered the Chocolate Cake Shake, come with a big appetite, share it, or do the smart thing and buy a small. It's so delicious, but also very filling.Would not hesitate to eat here again
I grew up about an hour south of Merrillville, IN so we would go to the Portillo's there quite a bit growing up and into my young adulthood. Absolutely loved our experiences there. So I was very happy when the location opened here in Fort Wayne! I love the addition of the BIG BEEF sandwich. So good!!!
