This place, since it opened, has been my family‘s favorite baked sandwich store. The sandwiches are all fantastic, typically.Having said that, there is new management at this specific store and the previous manager wasn’t so sharp but this one’s even worse. The place is staffed by 50% people who are so stoned they can barely take an order or respond to you in a understandable fashion. The other 50% just don’t care. I went in yesterday ordered sandwiches got down to the other end and they handed me a bag with two sandwiches in it. I asked about the fries I ordered. They just stared at me. I showed them the receipt to showed that I paid for fries. There were three people there all three walked in different directions and not a single person dropped some fries in to cook? A fourth person came in the room and she looked at me like questioning why I was even there. I told her I’m waiting for fries. She said what size? I told her small and she gave it to me. The other three employees just kept doing whatever they were doing before. Having said all that, I’m not going to go here anymore. If I can go to a different store I’ll try that but this one is not worth it anymore
This store is definitely not what it used to be. I waited about 10 minutes for my order to be taken. Granted they had about 10 receipts that they were working on. The manager in a red shirt said, “ it’s going to be a while before I can help you.” Waited as she put one order at a time on the grill and the young man working the grill had earphones in his ears cooking the food. The manager was very verbal telling her crew that she could “walk out and quit now.” Huge spill in front of the pop machine that caused the young man delivering my food to slip and drop all of my food. Not his fault but definitely the MOD’s fault. No hats on any of the employees! I owned several Penn Stations years ago and I love the food but will probably think twice about coming back to this location.
Stopped after work last night to get two subs asked for extra cheese and meat on both. There was neither extra meat or cheese on either one and the medium fries I ordered didn’t even have enough to fill a small order. For as much as I paid I was very disappointed with the quality of my order.
People here just mess up your food. When i told the guy at the register it was wrong, 1st thing he did was pull up the receipt to argue w/me that he made what I ordered, got lil angry boy attitude when I wanted a new sandwich made.2nd sandwich was correct but not the larger size one I had ordered & paid for so I just got a to go bag & left in disgustCookies were also burnt.
Went tonight around 7 pm. When I walked in, there were two up front. One took my order while the other swept up what looked like the remnants of a food fight. While the 1st man took my order, a woman began screaming and swearing from the back room. She yelled numerous four letter words before walking out to the lobby. She sighed deeply while she took my money, making sure to let me know I was inconveniencing her.
Horrible customer service. My sandwhich was made wrong (like it is every time we go tobthis location) and when my husband asked to get it fixed he was told "theres only a little but of lettuce but you want the whole thing remade?" In a snarky tone. We were treated like it was our fault and that we were a nuisance. The lady then refused to aknowledge my husband when he had questions and our whole expirience went down hill. I didnt catch her name but she was wearing a black gucci mask and had black curly hair. We will be going to other locations from now on.
As always, the food at Penn Station East Coast Subs was good and we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere of the restaurant. The drawback today was the very slow pace of being waited on in the line and then the slowness of the food completion. The person at the register barely acknowledged us when we spoke to her as well. Again, the food was good, but the staff seemed to be having an off day.
The first problem arrived when we got in and it was clear they were short staffed. It took a significant amount of time before I got to order even though there was only one customer in front of me.The next problem arrived when I went to pay. I asked if they had cookies, there was none (fine, I get it, you're short staffed). Also, I told the initial person I wanted a drink, which they put into the system for the cashier to ring up. The cashier rang me up all the same, no big deal, but then there was no tea. Alright, I will just get lemonade instead. I go to the register to ask for that instead, which the cashier then berated me for paying for a fountain drink instead of tea in the first place - at no point did anyone inform me anything was a different price, otherwise I'd have gladly paid for the tea. And instead of being even the remotest bit of understanding, I got treated like I paid for nothing and was asking for everything for free. Now, this isn't on them, of course, but I do not drink soda which narrowed my drink options down to water, tea, lemonade. I'm quite used to this, but to be treated so horribly because there was no tea and refusing to let me get the lemonade (or even let me pay an upcharge on it, even though I'd already bought a drink I couldn't use) left a bad taste in my mouth. I ended up with water instead.Overall, the only reason they are getting 2 stars is because the food was still delicious.
Ordered 2 sandwiches. One was meant to be cold turkey and come out as hot without the requested lettuce and tomato. 2nd sandwich was underwhelming cheese steak. Haven't had Penn Station in a couple years... remembered liking it more. Oh well, did the job while traveling.
I FOUND A LARGE HAIR IN MY ORDER OF FRENCH FRIES.After which I noticed the workers weren’t wearing hair nets. They also weren’t wearing gloves.Out of sight, out of mind until you have a hair curled up in your French fries. This place is mess. Don’t waste your time. I used to like it but I’m done.
