Unprofessional and unorganized management, not to mention rude. They told us food would be ready in "20-25 minutes" and when we went to pick it up they said they had 9 tickets ahead of us and couldn't give us a time. How can you not tell people when their food will be ready for pick up? Instantly defensive when we asked. Being a local restaurant, improving customer service to the community with a smile on your face would serve you right.
This place had only been open a couple of weeks when we tried it for the first time and things didn't go well. They were busy so we decided to sit at the bar and it took 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. Since it took so long we ordered our drinks and food at the same time. It took an hour and a half to get our food. The food was decent but the drinks are outrageously expensive. My wife's Bourbon and diet Coke was $9.50. ($8.50 for the bourbon and $1.00 for the diet Coke). Never saw that before. Probably more expensive than anywhere in town. I hope this place gets it together because we need more restaurants on the northeast side of town. Looking forward to trying it again and hopefully improve my three-star rating. That was actually a generous rating.
They just opened and you can tell they're still working out some of the kinks, so if you show up at a peak time you might need a little patience, but if you like BBQ you have to go here. Our server was Nate D and he did a great job. From the first bite I found one of my favorite new restaurants. Our appetizer was awesome, my wife got a burger and I got some chicken and we were both very happy. Some of the best BBQ I've had since a trip to St. Louis. Well worth any waiting you might need to do and I'm sure that will improve soon. Oh and their friench fries are some kind of magic or something.
Fantastic. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Fast service and of course terrific BBQ. I will definitely be making many more stops here.
The atmosphere of the new restaurant is outstanding! Full bar, lots of TVs, very friendly staff, and of course amazing bbq! The menu has expanded and offers great variety for everyone to enjoy. Definitely would recommend!
Great BBQ the way it suppose to be done looking forword to eating at this new location closer to me. Warning for the other BBQ restaurants over here on the east side of town. YOU know who you are! YOU BETTER STEP YOUR GAME UP! Real Great BBQ meat taste good before you cover it with SAUCE! SO TASE YO MEAT PLAIN!
Lucilles catered a funeral I attended and the food was fantastic. Meat was juicy and tender, with a perfect amount of smoke flavor, BBQ sauce perfect, broccoli salad and potato casserole were incredible.
3 strikes and never again. Over 5 years I gave this place 3 chances. 1st was order of nachos with Brisket. Nothing but fat for meat and reviews here confirm that hasnt changed in years. I tried to eat those for 3 minutes when i saw it was mostly cold fat I stopped told them and they told me I could leave without paying. 2nd visit was just poor food and nothing remarkable. 3rd visit was for a smoked turkey platter. Smoked Mash potatoes and broccoli salad. I was served room temp turkey that had a very tiney hint of smoke. Added sauce and there was not a trace of smokey flavor. Potatoes had a little more hint of smoke flavor than the turkey but was gone quick and they were room temp. Broccoli was store bought/ fresh and flavorful - delicious. Hot and spicey Sause only had a hint of heat and spice. a total disappointment. The raspberry sauce was great balance and surprise good taste. 19 bucks for garbage and 3 bucks for bad tea. Most likely almost out so it was mostly water. Its just sad. I am not sick and have not lost my sense of smell and taste. I had a strong craving for BBQ and will not be going back here. The waitress with the very prominent limp wrist asked me if I was done with my tray while I was waiting in a long line to pay. I dont have an explanation for that. You deserve a hot meal for 25 bucks.
Great place food was amazing. The server's were helpful and quick. If you get a chance go and enjoy.
The bbq is pretty good, with some good sides (especially the mac’n cheese). We have visited several times, but this visit will be the last. One of the items ordered was “The Pounder”; one pound of rib tips served over fries for $12. The waitress asked if we wanted the fries(?), she said that many people didn’t want them? Since another side had been ordered it was decided that we could do without them. Imagine our surprise when we were charged $16!! One pound of rib tips (no fries) on the “bulk menu” is $4 more then when purchased with fries! Imagine our greater surprise when the waitress said there was nothing she could do and the manager wouldn’t do anything (she wasn’t sure if it was fair). At least the waitress was pleasant and I would hope that she will no longer recommend not getting the fries. The manager was another story, she would never work for me. This from a place that prides itself as being a family and locally owned place. It’s Shig’n Pits from now on, even the chain places will get our business first.
