Great prime rib,,excellent service
1-5-22. On our first visit to the restaurant we were impressed. Casual atmosphere and attire. Our hostess and waitress were both friendly and attentive to our needs. We both ordered the special of the night: 7oz. steak, shrimp skewer, stuffed yellow squash, fried mashed potato cake and a piece of strawberry cake for dessert. It was delicious and only $16.95 per person. We will return to the restaurant when in the area.
While it is a somewhat rustic atmosphere is overcrowded- but the food was very good. The house bread was fabulous. Service was very steady as well. The steak and shrimp special was very good, as was the prime rib.
Nice casual atmosphere. Only hiccup was that their computer system was down so they couldn't submit orders for awhile. They just kept bringing water to our table. It wasn't a problem for us since not all of our party had arrived. But I'm sure it would have been an issue for those ready to eat at other tables. The food was delicious and hot once it arrived.
Had a great waiter tonight my husband’s broiled fish dinner was terrific my chicken sandwich was good, the gumbo and onion rings were yummy too. We will come back when we are in the area. It was our first time here and while it was more expensive than places we usually go, it was well worth it.
The place was cool looking on the inside. But we had much higher hopes for the food. My husband and I both got the prime rib. His sides were the fried green tomatoes, and the augraten potatoes. Mine was the Caesar salad, and onion rings. The ONLY thing that had ANY flavor was the augraten potatoes. Server was sweet, but we won't be going back.
Halls is has the best prime rib , blue cheese salad dressing & German chocolate cake! Every time I’m home ( Ft Wayne) I eat at Hall’s! Recommend them to anyone in Ft Wayne area. Our server yesterday was the best too.
Bartender started off a little frosty as the bar was all regulars except us. My husband was in the restroom and I ordered his beer. Was informed by state regulations, that she could not serve it without him present. All fine until a while later when I noticed one gentleman joined another at a table. He was promptly given a drink ordered for him by first gentleman at the table. Please be consistent or at least discrete. Ordered a Chardonnay but did not express bar Chardonnay so was given a more expensive brand. Always feel like I should be given an option. Otherwise, it feels like gouging. Our food did not disappoint. Everything was served as it should have been and portions were abundant. Overall, it was a pretty good experience and would definitely return.
This is a place I go for a treat because the prices are more than I usually want pay. The food and atmosphere are more upscale than I usually go for, but I enjoyed both this visit. The server was attentive and pleasant, also.
We ate before the concert and was pleasantly surprised. My husband had the pork tenderloin sandwich and I had the ahi tuna appetizer. The ahi tuna was fantastic. Our Granddaughter had the kids popcorn shrimp. The food was very good and the waitress was very attentive. Glad the we made this choice.
