We had the best time! Easy & free parking. Lots of animals where you can get up close! Lush gardens of beautiful flowers and greenery everywhere. Very easy to navigate with strollers, wagons or wheelchairs. Lots of photo opportunities throughout the zoo. It seemed as if there was always a bathroom nearby which helps tremendously with small children. Plan your trip accordingly, they have different animal feedings throughout the zoo. We went when It was overcast so the giraffes weren’t as active and if you don’t get there early they may have eaten a lot for the day. The stingrays only feed at 11 & 2 I believe. The petting zoo is always fun we did that last. We started in Africa and moved counterclockwise. Cafés throughout the park and lots of benches to stop and take a rest. They even had more private places for nursing mothers. We can’t wait to come back!
Very clean! Easy parking! Lots of activities to do with kids of all ages! The exhibits very open and had multiple areas to view the animals. First experience and I already want to go back.
A little on the pricey side being $16 per adult ticket as well as expensive food. Other than that the experience is great, the exhibits are very nice. There is a lot of running water for many of the animals which is necessary. It took about 2 hours for 2 adults to go through. The boat ride is pretty neat. There has been a lot of construction the last few years, lots of changes being made, but I always go back every summer.
I've been to probably 50+ zoos in my lifetime and I have fed several large animals. I have never been so close to some of my favorite animals like I was in this zoo. The king of the jungle laid on a rock right beside the viewing glass and groomed his mate and then he tried to groom my wife. Most of the animals looked reasonably happy and full of life.A bit of advice....don't do the sky safari ride. There are no animals visible beneath the ride and it's just a waste of 10 minutes and $3 a person
They are fixing the zoo up which was much needed. Down side, food is kind of expensive, tickets are kind of pricey but comparable to some zoos. Rides are expensive unless you get a ride pass. I recommend a membership and ride pass if you have a large family and the members cups. Free refills on soda all season. You can take coolers, food and drinks into the zoo. No bears, elephants or butterflies like some zoos. You can't pet very many animals, some zoos you can pet a lot. This zoo does have free parking. No horses any more which my kids loved.
We LOVE our visits to the zoo! There's something for everyone. My daughter was disappointed that she no longer gets to visit her favorite pony, Candy. I hope the zoo considers bringing the pony ride back. Also, would LOVE to see more on the sky safari.Otherwise, our visit was fantastic! She LOVED that there's a mural with the butterfly photo-op now! I loved that the jeeps I rode in have at least returned to Nyumba Village.
Always a fun time at the zoo in Fort Wayne! From the sky lift over the safari to the Indiana farm petting zoo, there are animals everywhere although some are pretty good at blending in to their surroundings. The monkeys and seals are adorable, while the carousel and train are fun for all ages. The zoo is very well maintained and clean and the staff is friendly.Bring a snack and drink for yourself and the kiddos, it's allowed, which makes the trip more affordable for families. It's a great way to spend the day!
Did the Festival of Lights last evening 5K. A good time and benefits a great organization Blue Jacket.
MY BEST TRADING EXPERIENCE EVER
Animals were awesome, zoo was clean, but website should be updated and inform people that almost everything in the zoo is closed!!!!! Didn't know until we got there and got in the zoo. Website made it seem like it was going to be a Halloween based day at the zoo full of stuff to do. Not the case
