I came to this restaurant with my mother for dinner, and we unfortunately had an underwhelming experience. Aesthetically beautiful, the hotel presents an inviting atmosphere. This Doubletree is lovely without doubt. However, I can’t say the same about the food at its Stone City Grill. We started off on the wrong foot because we split an order of bacon wrapped scallops. The bacon was burned to a crisp on the ends and the middle portion was completely uncooked fat. Worse, the scallops themselves were cold on the inside! This was a shocking and unpleasant experience, and it should never happen in any restaurant. Next came the Indiana Corn Salad; this array of mixed greens and assorted vegetables was overwhelming in its quantity, perhaps typical of Midwest cuisine preferences. In fact, it was so tall and wide, that it completely enveloped the plate. This made for a very poor presentation and simply too much food that was difficult to manage. The accompanying dressing came on the side by request, and it was barely enough to cover 10% of the salad. The corn, an Indiana staple of pride, was not even separated into kernels. In other words, it was a grid of corn kernels, shaved from the cob, that had simply been tossed on the plate. The sheer amount of spinach and lettuce was so disproportionate to the rest of the ingredients that it was overwhelming. The entire look of this salad was one of thoughtless and hurried process, making for an overall meal of poor quality. I had my remaining 10 pounds of roughage put into a to-go box, but it only made it as far as the bin outside of the lobby. On a positive note, our server was extremely friendly, and she kindly offered to take the appetizer off the bill, as one would at least expect. I am beginning to understand the Indiana playbook for restaurant dining: real friendly folks who serve lots of mediocre food. Bummer.

First- Barb was excellent! The entire FOH staff- amazing! The music was very loud and a distraction. The food was great and the hospitality was superb! Thank you for an amazing anniversary and birthday dinner.

My husband and I celebrated my birthday by spending a night at the Doubletree. Out of convenience, I chose to make reservations at Stone City Grill. I researched the restaurant on Facebook, Yelp, and the Evansville Restaurant Reviews Facebook page. I found very little information, but went ahead with the reservation anyway. Now, I understand why there was so little information available. We arrived for our reservation at 6:30 and were seated immediately as there were only 3 o

I've been here a few times for the lunch buffet. I really enjoyed the fried chicken and also the fajita menus they've had for the buffet. Never too busy, but almost always people in here. I would recommend stopping by if you are nearby, but I wouldnt go out of your way to eat here, as I dont know where you would park.Waitresses are always very kind and quick to refill drinks or clear plates.

We booked this hotel because it was "pet-friendly" and in close proximity to the convention center. The day before traveling to the hotel, I called to notify them that I was bringing my cat so that they could charge me the appropriate cleaning rates. That's when they informed me that their "pet-friendly" policy only extends to dogs, not cats. I asked to speak to the manager, who in turn spoke with the General Manager. I explained that I was literally supposed to be leaving my house in 12 hours to go to Evansville and could they please make an exception because the hotels in town are all booked at this point. They said no but that there was an animal boarding facility down the road I could make use of. Trust me, I'd put their management in a pet boarding facility before I put my cat there. I called the corporate office and contacted them on Twitter to request assistance in the matter, all to no avail. Apparently, according to Evansville allergy experts, dog dander evaporates into particles of happiness and cat dander can't be cleaned without burning down the building. So after all was said and done, my wife and I had to cancel our trip because we had nowhere to stay. I've honestly never dealt with poorer customer service and this experience reflects poorly on the entire Hilton brand.

We reserved directly through the hotel for a king room two months in advance for a family event, and reconfirmed by phone on the day of our arrival. We arrived at 8pm only to be told that they were oversold for the room type we had booked so we had to accept a room with two beds (we are a couple and we like to sleep together in a king bed). The front desk staff complained that the third party booking sites had overbooked them. The lesson we learned here is that they honor third party booking site reservations over their own direct bookings, so if you stay here, book with booking.com. The hotel is nice but this Check-in experience and their failure to honor their promise soured our experience.

Great hotel. We have a little staff interaction. We got the suite and pretty big and spacious. A little pricey but we got the suite. Had a good sleep. Great receptionist. We recommend this as high end in Evansville

All in all this was a decent bargain for the stay. Although, we had booked under a weeding party and used points. The room seemed a little pricey, but it was nice. I will probably just use Priceline or something to that, next time we book.

By far the best hotel in Evansville, they treat you like family. Be careful you may be late for scheduled event, the beds are so comfortable it’s hard to leave!!! Great food and plenty of great food in walking distance.
