Food was over cooked and looks like chicken was cooked in very old grease. Food was so bad i couldnt even eat more then a couple bites. Low product availability. It was really dirty inside, we were sticking to the floor.

Its either going to be phenomenal, or total garbage. Worth the risk. If the friendly white lady is working, food tends to be good, because she doesn't let it sit on the counter for 20 minutes before she hands it to you. The black girl with short blue hair is scatterbrained, lazy and will read on her phone while your food sits in front of her getting stale. I'm the only one who's going to say it, and you know it's true ... Your experience relies 100% on your profiling decision skill upon arrival. I'll leave it at that.

My family loves eating here. Today I took my mom as I told her how good the food was. So she agreed to try it. Man that was a mistake the Gumbo watery and no flavor. Salt and pepper would go a long way. Then it was cold when it came to us. When my mom asked to warm up the cold gumbo the girl said I stuck my finger in it, it felt warm. The only thing good was the freahly cooked meat. The fish and chicken along with the shrimp was amazing. But someone needs to check on standards. The waitress didn't even take her hood off of her head... I just don't know if we will be back, and it saddens me greatly..

The fish, fries, hush puppies, sub are delicious and you get much food for the price. The cashier is very nice and friendly. She also saved me $ with a suggestion of how to order.

Most important to know: YES, Sam's Southern Eatery has good fish. It's got a hint of heat, but nothing so spicy it would offend any but the most sensitive tummies. The fried okra was likewise tasty. Overall, it was worth my repeat business.Where Sam's needs improvement is in its accommodations. While the woman at the counter treated us with the Evansville equivalent of southern hospitality, the dimly lit and disjointedly decorated dining area lacks an atmosphere that enhances the appetite. You'll likely enjoy a carry-out order over a dine-in experience. The price for two Fish Po' Boy platters (sandwich, extra piece of fish, and one side) and two appetizers: just over $30.

The fish is amazing.. I don't know what they do to the breading but every time I go there it taste phenomenal. Kudos to the chef.

First time eating here and we really enjoyed it. The food was great and the service was too. We had the shrimp and one fish and it is a lot of food! I highly recommend this place if you are wanting some really good sea food.

Depends on who's working that day. Never seen the same person when we go. Service is usually slow but food is delicious which is why we come back.

Dingy...dim. Chicken was limp like the fries. Red beans and rice pretty good. Soft drink was flat and syrupy.

Ordered/paid online.. went to pick up.. told clerk I pain online.. she claimed I still owed a couple dollars? I’m not sure what for?? Then paid in cash and she couldn’t give me my change back… very unorganized shack.
