Excellent food and service!
An Evansville treasure! Been eating here since I was a child. Foods always fresh and delicious. Best Egg Drop Soup and Crab Rangoons around!
My mom and I went there and had the worst experience. Initially we wanted to go to Domos(AMAZING place), but they were closed from 2 to 4. So we drove around and found the chopstick house. When we walked in the place was almost empty. We stood there a minute and waited to be seated. We were just about to walk out when we were approached. We were seated, the table was clean but the decor was very dated. My mom wanted to know if the spring rolls were crunchy or soft with rice paper. When the waitress came to the table, we tried to ask about it but the waitress did not understand us. There was a clear communication barrier. We decided to try it and see how it turned out. We ordered crab rangoon, spring rolls, General Tso's chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken. The crab rangoon filling texture and taste resembled tuna fish that sat in the fridge in mayo for a couple of days. It was soggy, overly mixed and digusting. The spring rolls were crunchy spring rolls but were over cooked and there was the flavor of that oil had not been changed. The worst part was the General Tso's chicken. When it came out, both my mother and I looked at it, like what in the world is this. The color of the sauce was a dark deep brown not the golden brown that you would normally see on General Tso's chicken. I decided to try a bite and give it a shot When I took a bite the taste was awful, after a short moment of chewing, I felt something that was hard and felt like porcelain. I took the piece out of my mouth and it was a piece of a plate or cup. I called the waitress over to show her and explain the safety risk to myself and to others. She did not understand what I was saying and she called the manager over. The manager explained to me that no one else had the issue with this food and that it had been eaten all day. She then offered to refund my spring roll which was the lowest costing item on my receipt. I do not feel this is acceptable to tell a customer who is showing you clearly a piece of your broken dinnerware in their food that no one else has had that issue and to offer to refund the lowest cost item on the menu. This raises a lot of concern in my eyes. Accidents happen for sure but when the manager, possible owner, openly denies the possibility of accidents, this indicates a possible awareness of issues within the kitchen.
Some menu items are great in comparison to others, and some are not as great. Staff and owners are awesome and always friendly. Very clean and prompt with service and food.
Crab rangoon were tough and almost inedible; I could barely eat them. The shrimp with garlic sauce had tiny shrimp, which didn't taste very good, and there was not even a trace of garlic in it. The fried rice was darm brown and was just soy sauce based. I will not order from there again.
Love this place! This is where the girlies and I go since they were little! They called my girlies “Peanut Girls” bc they had to have peanuts with their fried rice.
The food is delicious every single time. (really- every single time) I’ve never had a bad meal and I’ve been eating here since they opened! The friendly staff makes you feel like family. Hands down - the best food in town!
Great authentic food. Always piping hot and prepared as ordered. Do not bypass this restaurant. Great service and ample parking.
We tried this restaurant based on a recommendation and really enjoyed it. We had takeout and even with a twenty minute drive, it was great. We will certainly be returning customers. I had the orange chicken, hot and sour soup, fried rice and egg roll..
