Went for lunch which was outstanding. There breaded tenderloin was one of the best I’ve ever eaten. There french fries which are hand cut potatoes and were fried perfectly. The service wasn’t the greatest I’ve ever had but wasn’t bad. The atmosphere was great and nostalgic. The price was not bad. After lunch we took a walk around the downtown which was nice. We returned and I had a banana split which was the best I can remember having. It is on our list as a place we want to return to.

We enjoyed reading about the soda fountains and seeing the ornate soda fountains and decor. The staff were very welcoming and provided great service. The ice cream sundaes were delicious!

We drove an hour out of our way super excited to see what all the hype was about, only to find a bunch of teenagers running the place. We were ignored for 20 minutes while the staff chit chatted at the bar. A few other tables had their drinks and food. The surroundings were beautiful but zero atmosphere. No music from the antique music box. No signs for gift shop or museum. We were about to walk out when finally a waiter came up. He said he didn’t know we were his table. There was only three or four other tables seated…I don’t think it was rocket science. We ordered but now the experience was soured and we took our food to go. A few items for sale at check out, but waiter couldn’t tell us price of coloring book. Never mind. Sooo disappointed. However the banana split we ate in the car was delicious. We had to ask for spoon, and were given only one flimsy. Okay better than fingers. Tenderloin okay not great. Wish we could of experienced what everyone else talks about! I don’t get it.

Wow this place is really cool and everybody should come here at least once! It's set back in the 1900s but fancy 1900s ice cream parlor. They have the original pieces of equipment used in the parlor from when it began. And they also have a self playing orchestra which not only looks Awesome but sounds Amazing. Oh yeah and they have good ice cream as well ?

A fun place to stop.We stopped on our way to Indy and had lunch. It's a neat place with the antiques. The food was good but they were overwhelmed. Service was slow.

This place is a living piece of history! If you have never been, you are missing out. The service is fantastic, the food is beyond belief! The museum is worth going, but the service and the food make it even better! Do yourself a favor, step back in history and enjoy some family time! Worth the wait.

While we understand many businesses struggle to hire and keep staff, we were disappointed the wait time required you to stay in the parlor area before being seated; no reservations or call-ins allowed. We only ordered ice cream. Waited 25 minutes for our order while other tables seated after us received their hot orders and ice cream. My son’s ice cream was half melted when everything arrived. The antique atmosphere is gorgeous and pristine but, unfortunately, the service was disappointing as well as the actual ice cream.

Step through the doors for a journey back in time. Expansive marble counters, display cabinets filled with porcelain decanters, and a antique organ with a resonating sound. A truly unique experience. Regrettably with only 1 server and 1 busboy be prepared to wait.

Came here several years ago and it was the coolest place. Had some unique crafted ice cream sodas. Returned on our way through today and we’re so disappointed. About 6 high school or college aged employees who were more interested in socializing than working. We were seated and then never waited on. Finally went to the bar and asked for some ice cream sodas to go and what we were served was more like milkshakes. The employees seemed to question each other on how to make the drinks as if they had never been trained. As we were waiting on our sodas to be made the other employees huddled by the register looking at us and whispering to one another. Such a huge discrepancy from how neat it was before. I’d be hesitant to go back but may try it since we had such a good first experience. A little training and managerial supervision and this would be a great place again.

So nostalgic!! We enjoyed looking at all the old cash registers, soda machines, listening to the organs and seeing the children smile throughout the restaurant. Very friendly staff, and some pretty good eats including the sodas and ice cream treats!! A staple in the area!
