Service is super slow, the waitress has an attitude and we have no clue why. We figured she had a bad day or something. We eat and the waitress brings us the check and the “tip” section has a black line through it. We ask for the manager to get clarificatin as to why the waitress would cross through the tip (seems a bit rude and odd). The manager says, “Oh she remembers you from the last time and you didn’t give a good tip so she just crossed through it.” “She’d rather not have a tip”…. Excuse me?!? You earn a great tip! Great service equals great tip, Good service equals good tip, Bad service equals low tip. The entitlement! So unprofessional and rude! What manager okays this behavior? She must be really hard up for money…who holds a grudge that long over a TIP that you absolutely deserved!! Oh and the waitress said they all talk about low and high tippers. Warning if you eat there and you TIP the waitress what they deserve and it’s not what they expect you’ll get horrible service the next time. We won’t be back! Rude customer service…
We loved it! Great setting with tasty fresh food. Clean and interesting place. Great service. We loved our server he noticed we we playing Pokemon go and jumped right into the conversation. We were allowed to roam and see everything while we waited for our food. It's a must stop if you're near by.
Our visit was not what we were expecting. The atmosphere was nice and eclectic well decorated well appointed, comma but attention to detail was very lacking. Mike read my clam chowder soup was good but not over the top. The appetizer of hash Browns with a teriyaki sauce was difficult because of the over sweetness of the item . I had the fish dinner and the crust was overdone. The wedge fries were really small and not what I would consider to be a wedge.. I normally enjoy my French fries fries, but I left half of these on the plate!
We had a pleasant lunch at Woody's. The food was good & the service was even better. Our server checked on us & kept our drinks refilled. (The corn chowder was spicy.)
Super picky wife really liked the salmon salad. I thought the fish and chips was excellent. Actually went here many years ago when it was an actual library. Good memories.
There’s no other place I would rather go to get the best drinks, food & service! It’s like a Cheers bar. You feel welcome whether it’s your first visit or if you’re a regular!
Worst bar in Carmel, hateful staff behind the bar. Don’t welcome crowds, seems as if they only want the regulars in. The server, whose name I did not get was great.
Excellent food & atmosphere. Service was fast and great. We had house salad, blue cheese wedge, and yummy blackened salmon sliders ( with wine) that were excellent. We ate upstairs in the “library” and enjoyed the atmosphere if the original library. Would go again!
Kettle cooked chicken is unbelievable. The mini sausage wrapped in bacon is also amazing. One of our favorite places in Indy.Every time we visit we come here.
The restaurant has an unbelievable history, an old library built by Carnegie. Some of the original old books are still there. Reservations needed to eat in the old library. The service was good down at the porch area. The beef dinners, 8 oz steak dinners, and Tenderloin steak had good flavor. I thought my steak was a little tough for medium rare. Not I'm chewing it but in cutting it. Maybe you need high quality steak knives or just sharpen the one I was givenPrice wise rhe meals were very reasonable. Historically well worth the trip from the state of Washington to meet old friends from Ohio.
