Ordered ahead on May 11th. Arrived to long lines in store and in drive thru. Two of the three espresso machines were down. Some customers were becoming impatient, others were understanding. The team of employees stayed calm, courteous and friendly during what could have been a very stressful situation. Very impressed! And my drink was made perfectly! Thank you!
Asked if possible to break a $20 bill for a $10 and two $5s. Said they couldn't unless I made a purchase which is fine. I started walking away and the manager made the comment, "Yeah, I wish I was a bank too." Snarkiness was not necessary.
Pros: the baristas do a relatively good job keeping up with orders. Gaining stars/points with each purchase is a nice plus.Cons: They could call out names louder for those who dine in. Not too thrilled that people have to go up & sift through all the drinks to find their own. How's that very Covid-19 savvy?BIGGEST ISSUE: The scores of LOUD teens who hang out for hours. Guess this is how Carmelites save money on babysitters. There are 30 here's right now. Can't stay here to use the Wi-Fi for business very long unfortunately.
I ordered inside the store like I been doing the last 15 years. Waited 25 minutes and saw 5 people ordered after me got their order. So I went to the servers and told them didn't need my order because it took too long. Left the store unhappy.
So slow. Be prepared to wait twenty minutes in the morning for an overpriced cup of coffee. What takes this location so long.
Large space for tables and meetings. Large selection of drinks and pastries. Clean and pleasant environment. Music is not so loud and very good choices.
Very nice location. Plenty of room, friendly staff. Very busy drive thru on Sunday but I had a pleasant experience.

As a daily visitor to SB's for the last several years (all over the Carmel area), I think this is the best run location. They've hired and retained good kids with smiling faces (behind the masks). Hats off to the SB Hazel Dell Crew! Thanks for putting with all of us "not-yet caffeinated Carmelites" every morning! Much appreciated.
Service is way too slow. I’ve wasted a lot of time at this store. The last time they got my order wrong too. I sense the baristas are overworked at times. It seems the store needs to add another coffee machine.
