We visited for the second time since the restaurant changed ownership. The first time was disappointing and it was a while back so I thought we’d give it another go. It seems that the last time wasn’t a fluke. I asked my fellow diners to remind me not to go back. The food isn’t nearly as good as it was under prior ownership and the service was lackluster at best.
I normally do not leave reviews, but I had to after this meal to warn others. I just ordered the General Tso's lunch combo. The chicken was so hard to eat. It was very hard to cut even with a knife and gives me the feeling that it is not safe to eat. The crab rangoon has absolutely no taste, and reminds you of eating a fortune cookie. The entire meal is completely flavorless and did not seem fresh at all. I definitely would not recommend.
No, thank you. We read good reviews about the Mandarin House on our neighborhood Facebook page. We decided to try it. We went there for lunch. We ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken and an egg roll. The egg roll was disappointing. While the outer crust was tasty, the varied ingredients inside most Chinese egg rolls were missing. The overall taste was bland. The Sweet and Sour sauce was syrupy. The rice was soggy. The fortune cookie was sponsored by a national cryptocurrency company. The inside message was about money. Lots of dough for an average lunch.
Staff was ok, did not do a good job on listening to my food orders when we sat down and my pork buns was cold and hard when it served, jiajiang noodles was cold, overall is not my recommendation for authentic Chinese cuisine!
Ordered dinner take out, when we got home had multiple issues/problems with the food & order. Serving portions were very small (even smaller) than lunch, chicken in General Tso's order was hard & tough, order chicken fried rice & there was no chicken in it, Mongolian Beef was supposed to be over a bed of fried rice sticks & it was not, called to inform the manager & never received return phone call. Very disappointed, when at one time, absolutely loved this place.....
Like the food very much, quite often get the to go!!!
a staple growing up. A must stop when I'm back in town. Wonderful family-owned establishment with long-time Carmel roots. Cheers to many more years!
1) The food tastes very average 2) the quantity of food is low. I ordered fried rice, and was very disappointed at the freshness , taste and quality. I also ordered a steamed fish dish that alone was about $16 , just two SMALL , DRY, HARD to chew fillets. definitely not fresh. That was IT !! I spent about $30 ( tax and tip) for this, but I would not go there again unless the owner makes major improvement.
I would rather go to a place where I was listened, walked in first time walked out with no satisfaction, after receiving the order asked for a hot sauce and was told it costs .75 cents……??Coming home realised no napkins, spoons/forks, do I have to pay for for spoons/forks?? ????
This place used to be a special treat to myself . It is no longer since it got bought out, everything here is horrible from the food to ppl bringing food out to car . I ordered a $80 chinese to go order. I told them what car I was in . I noticed they gave this huge order that was suppose to be mine to car next to me . I saw them hand it over, I said are u sure that’s not my order? They looked at me like I was joking . When they found out what happened they told me I had to wait 20 mins for my order since they gave it away . I’m steaming mad at this point . I see the car that had drove off with my order show up 15 mins later and was returning their order since they got theirs wrong . So now both of us are waiting for our orders. I get home and food was horrible . I wouldn’t even feed to my dogs it was that bad . My dad spit out food and said don’t ever go Bk there.
