I've been coming here since I was in Highschool. I graduated in 2004. Same people, consistently good food, servers take care of you with a smile. This is what restaraunts look to be, although most fail. Love the people, love the food, can't say enough about Rafiel, Jaime, Ricky, Jennifer, and the rest of the crew.BUENOS Noches MI FamiliaAndrew
We've been going to El Rodeo for years, as well as the sister El Rodeo on the West Side of Zionsville, aka Whitestown, on Rte. 334 just east of I-65. A nice place for reliably decent to good food. If you want to ask for attention to something (it seems to be essential, almost everywhere, when ordering beans, refried or other, to ask "can the kitchen make sure the beans are HOT? ... temperature?"), then they'll try to accommodate you. This staff, like most others, appreciates it if one speaks any Spanish (or Spanglish) at all, so know the word for "hot" is Caliente.... As is often found, the shredded chicken for quesadillas, tacos, and more is very good, tasty and not too spicy (kids might like it). The salsa, in our opinion, is delicious. The tortilla chips seem always to be fresh, and, thank goodness, not heavily salted. For aficionados of Mexican food (like us, orig from Calif.), just know that what you know as a Chile Relleno is -- unless they've changed this -- going to have cheese AND some ground meat in it. To get the Chile Relleno with which you are more familiar, ask them if they have a chile poblano ... and confirm it has cheese, no meat. Prices remain reasonable. They have a hard-working and positive crew -- very polite, friendly, and helpful. It gets VERY busy at high noon-ish and the area's usual suppertimes, so we prefer to go at slightly off times (supper at 7:45 pm or later). A very reliable place, especially if one is hungry. You'll leave full, for sure.
On Friday, April 15, 2022, a group of my friends & I came for Mexican food & drinks and to be honest, it was okay. We ordered the Chimichanga with chicken, refried beans, lettuce, sour cream, tomato & rice. The flavor of the chicken was pretty bland but the texture was pretty good. The retried beans with the cheese was probably the tastiest. We spent a little over $13 and it was pretty fitting for the meal as I would not have spent any more than that.Although the waitresses were polite, customer service was pretty average. We had to get their attention multiple times just to order our meal and then we had to ask for silverware and straws after we got our meals and drinks. It took about 20 minutes to get our food which wasn’t bad but to be honest, it was not worth the wait.#AccordingToArmon
Last time i went they made it better than i wanted but this time it felt rushed this makes me not want to go back. I asked for steak and chicken mixed (grilled chicken) this is shredded chicken with beef looks like one pinch of each thrown on there
Server kept telling me they would only give me refried brand, i finally told him to just ask the kitchen. Yep, they had black beans. Got the taco salad with beef tips... Very underwhelmed with it. And it still had grab peppers in it after I had requested twice for no green peppers. ?
Good food and really good service!
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in town. We used to go to this place almost weekly when we lived nearby.
Great food, great people who treat us as part of their family. We love this place.
These guys are great! They always treat us well, provide a good meal and are interactive with our kids. My only complaint is their tortillas are mediocre. They are just “eh” and taste like store bought Mission tortillas. I would bet they could have a line out the door if they made and sold good homemade tortillas like you find in Arizona and California. Just saying (if you folks at El Rodeo are reading this ?)
Love this restaurant! Introduced to it by Mexican friends and now it's a firm fav. Lunch take out and evening sit down - both are fab!!
