One of my favorite bars to go to in Bloomington. Has fantastic drinks and food deals to get some delicious food in your system after some drinking ?
Visiting the Library inside upstairs was a great experience! The drinks were delicious and the bar staff was knowledgeable. It was exciting to dress up and sneak away from the overcrowded bar at upstairs and into a more relaxed (yet fancy) environment. A gem for GNO or date night!
Worth it primarily for $2 Tuesdays. The pool table is fun too though! Good place to have a classic bar experience near campus.
Fast service. GreatView. Only stayed for a beer cause it was game night and they were packed. Very college bar feel.
In a place dominated by many college bars, The Upstairs Pub has a bit of a tough time to stand out but it is a solid option for those looking for a place to get together, especially before a basketball game. I greatly appreciate that they check IDs of everybody, including old folks like me. While Nick's is a place where they thrown rotten milk at you (and I say this literally, not figuratively), it is good to have a normal option to go for a drink such as The Upstairs Pub.
I always have a good time when I go here. Every visit is a memory. It may not be great memories every time, but a memory is a conversation piece. One that you can, at a later time, enjoy a lot.
Not the nicest bar, but popular with the students.I realize being in the service industry sucks but one of the bartenders was incredibly rude to my friend (who is new to the area and just started drinking alcohol) and it really spoiled the mood. And, to clarify we were not hammered or anything. There was a miscommunication between them about the tip amount (my friend made the mistake), and she made some uncomfortable comments about my friend that really hurt their feelings over a simple misunderstanding on bar tipping etiquette (my friend is international so it's different across the sea). After that, I went up instead to purchase the drinks. I asked for cash back so I could tip her and she seemed annoyed that the whole cash amount wasn't hers to keep (which would have been a 40% tip). I'm a Bloomington local and it's disappointing to go to a bar like this in my hometown. All the other bartenders I encountered were very kind.
The bar was quite lively and had a good ambience. The drinks were quite cheaper than I expected and had a great time. It was a disappointment that no food was served else it would have been a blast!! Would likely visit again if I have the time!!✌️
A super fun place to drink and they have specials everyday. There drinks taste good and they don’t skip out on the alcohol.
Got bar to sit and drink with friends, good atmosphere, drinks well priced, kind of some weird music sometimes, definitely don't like listening to crazy frog 4 times in a row...
