I used to love this place, but the pricing is outrageous and the last time I came here I had a bunch of tiny particles and chunks of ice in my soft serve. Absolutely disgusting. Threw my cone away, couldn't even finish that. Second time that's ever happened at an ice cream place! The truth is, chocolate moose saw its best days when they had the hut in the middle of the lot! All downhill since then. Clean your disgusting machines! Probably wouldn't even come here if somebody paid for me because the last time was just that disgusting. I want ice cream, not dirt! Plus the prices.... Never in my life should I be throwing away an ice cream cone I paid $4-5 for. For that price, it should be the best in the whole county, which it definitely is not. Maybe it used to be, but that was over a decade ago. The workers here are at least nicer than the ones at Hartzells, but obviously are lazy because my ice cream has come out filled with dirt more than once

SUCH a great ice cream shop. The smell of fresh waffle cones fills the store. This was an old style ice cream shop from the 1950s when I was in college. Now it's housed underneath an apartment complex, but the ice cream is still rich and flavorful. Chocolate Moose is a Bloomington staple - some of the best ice cream around.

I've been going to the chocolate moose since I was a young kid. They have since moved locations in the past few years but have still maintained the same quality and service they are known for. The ice cream is very delicious as well. I do have to note that their vegan flavors are sweetened with agave syrup so that's something to remember if you're sensitive to it.
I’ve never been satisfied with any other ice cream after having some of their homemade flavors.
The best ice cream in the city I must say. Nice place to sit and enjoy the sweet treats. Though the only thing I was unhappy about was the variance in quantity. The first time we went, the quantity was almost 2.5 scoops and the next time it was barely 1 scoop plus like half of the other flavor I wanted. I think the billing and tips should be done after giving out the ice cream seems that matters. All in all definitely worth the visit.?
This is another place that pops up on my feet that I have never ate at I just deliver orders from. So the best I can say is the employees that work here are always very polite and helpful. And the food looks delicious but I cannot have any of it
The Chocolate Moose is a lovely local business. Many different flavors and toppings to choose from and big portion sizes for the price.
The Brown County Coffee was so delish. I love that they also have a vegan section as well. Inlove the tiny kid's touch cone. The little eyes on it make is so delightful.
