I visited for the first time earlier today with my husband. Service could've been much better. It took awhile for someone to come to our table and he didn't seem too friendly, just gave us our menus and left. The next guy that came to take our order was very friendly. Unfortunately after we got our food he only checked on us once maybe 5 mins after we got our food. He seemed too busy talking to the other young man up front. I had to go up to him to tell him we wanted the check.The food was pretty delicious. I got the brisket tray and liked all of it. My husband got the brisket sandwich. The bbq chips didn't have much of a bbq flavor though, they were more salty tasting. The price is affordable for what you get. I liked their sauces.

It smelled great walking up and we were very excited to eat here but then we were served overcooked and dry meat. The host, server, and bartender were all the same person for the entire restaurant.
Was here for work, so we got to walk to SmokeWorks in downtown Bloomington. This may end up being a 5-star place if I get to come back, but since it was lunch, I only got a sandwich. Would like to come back for dinner and try some more food. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful and the overall vibe of the place was fun and looked nice.
Stopped in on a rainy Saturday afteroon after a round of golf at the Pfau IU golf course. Server was awesome, food was great as well. We had racks of ribs, and a few sides. Server was very attentive the whole time. Would eat here again 125%!
First time in Bloomington and SmokeWorks was recommended by hotel staff. My brisket sandwich was delicious and their variety of bbq sauces was fun to sample. Only thing keeping this from a 5-star rating is that the food was not as hot as it should've been when served. The server said they were understaffed. I'd go back again and would recommend.
Our food was cold. The ribs, brisket, and chicken were all cold and dry. The macaroni and cheese was really grainy and cold. Our waitress brought us another macaroni side and it was luke warm at most, and it looked like macaroni and cheese soup. You can see this in the photo. Corn bread was okay, maybe the best thing on the tray. Maybe we came on a bad kitchen staff day? However we will definitely not be stopping in here to eat again. And no, we do not recommend it.
Nice dining experience! Good price. Arrived quick. Waitress Harper was very informative. BBQ sauces and baked beans not my favorite but pulled pork ,brisket and Mac and cheese were great!
Excellent bbq. I had brisket that was almost perfect. Great flavor, perfectly tender, & the fat left on the slices melted in my mouth like butter. The sides were complementary but didn't steal the show. The whiskey bar was an excellent complement to the meal. Finding Buffalo Trace as a standard menu selection was an unexpected treat.The other guests I was with had the ribs or a brisket sandwich. Everyone who had the ribs was still talking about them later that night. For several of them it was the second time they'd been there in two days.If you're in the mood for very good bbq this is worth the trip.
First, our waitress was not good. That always sets the mood for a restaurant experience. That being said, most of our food was enjoyable. I had the brisket which was absolutely amazing. I didn't care for any of the bbq sauces. They were okay, but nothing spectacular. My potato salad had absolutely no flavor. I never salt food after it has been served, but I did ask for salt for that dish. My daughter got the bbq nachos and that was the best thing we ate. I would visit the restaurant just for those. My other daughter got a turkey sandwich, and it was also delicious,, although the potato chips that came with it were stale. The prices were great for the amount of food we got. They are really big portions! We had a pleasant experience, just not as amazing as I'd hoped.
