Good food, and eclectic location. They have indoor and outdoor seating and quite a bit of both! The coffee is wonderful; they roast their beans in-house. My husband and I both tried "The Kevin Entright" which includes 2 eggs, wheat toast, and either french toast or pancake, and either bacon, sausage patties, or ham. My husband decided on sausage patties and the french toast for his two optional pieces, and I ordered the pancake and bacon. It did seem like a lot of carbs for either option since either automatically come with toast. The pancake mix is made in house and is very tasty- robust and had a slight natural sweetness. My suggestion to the restaurant would be to also sell their pancake mix, especially since they already sell their in-house roasted coffee beans by the bag.If you are looking for a one of a kind place for breakfast or brunch then I do recommend Runcible Spoon!

I stopped by here briefly for lunch and I had the veggie burger. They have a large outdoor patio for dining which is very attractive these days when fresh air is a precious resource. The burger was fine; I would probably opt for the beef burger if I ever go back, but I was feeling especially virtuous on the day I visited. I'm not very familiar with Bloomington, so I was pleased to discover that the restaurant is very close to the university campus. I had a meeting to attend on campus right after lunch, and I arrived right on time. This is a friendly, casual restaurant and I enjoyed my brief visit.

The Runcible spoon is a Bloomington staple. Very cozy inside and a nice coffee menu as well. The food is good but the atmosphere is really the reason people come to Runcible spoon. I have had the ham steak before which is good if you like ham. The corned beef hash was not what I was expecting. I imagined a bed of potatoes with pieces of corned beef but it was more like a potato pancake with shredded corned beef in it. The salmon hash was good but had a bit too much dill on it. We ordered a side of potatoes and our server suggested we added veggies and cheese to it so we did. It was a bit too much in my opinion, turning into to more spinach and broccoli rather than potatoes, I guess I was expecting peppers and onions when she mentioned vegetables. This place gets busy so make sure you are prepared to wait!

My wife and I ate dinner at the Runcible Spoon before a concert at IU Auditorium. The restaurant is across the street from the Poplars garage, and a nice place for dinner before taking the shuttle to the auditorium. The staff was friendly and efficient, and our food was delightful. Although breakfast is served all day, we opted for dinner entrees, which were both excellent. I enjoyed the Spoon Chicken, a tender herb marinated chicken breast served with smashed potatoes, black beans, and a vegetable medley, while my wife had the chicken fettucine. Both entrees were delicious. We finished dinner by splitting a creme brulee for dessert. Although we were not partaking, they had a reasonably varied and diverse wine and beer list. The interior is decorated in an eclectic, whimsical style in keeping with the restaurant's name taken from the Edward Lear poem. We loved the atmosphere, staff, and experience, and definitely will be back.

Absolutely love this place.. great food.. cool vibes... kind of tight and packed in but once you get seated it's fine... everything I've ate from here has been amazing highly recommend...

I didn't know that biscuits and gravy were so popular in Indiana. This place got it right! The pancake with blueberries was really good and the french toast was even better. The idea of a wine based Bloody Mary wasn't exactly appealing, but I've got to say I was pleasantly surprised.

I always enjoy eating at this place! Every meal I've ever had here has been fantastic and the service is always on point. Great spot to bring family and friends including the furry ? ones. The outdoor seating and sun coming down today was a great start to our morning ?

Pancake with syrup is amazing!!!!

Definitely a quirky little restaurant. Has upstairs and downstairs area dining. Attentive and friendly staff. We ordered chai latte, salmon hash and chef's special omelette which has corned beef, mushrooms, onions and I believe swiss or provolone cheese... The salmon was flavorful and some good sauce that went with it. Chai latte was cozy and warm. The omelette though was lacking in flavor. Very bland but it was stuffed plenty.. just needed salt or some spices in general. Would definitely go back to try other things because supporting local is always a great thing! Street parking at this area. Keep up the good work everyone!
