Wonderful experience! We visited at a slower time (4p) on a Saturday and had a great time. Server (Seth B) was fantastic, offered small samples of some of the beers they offered as my husband was unsure if he'd like them. Highly recommend the Gumball beer.We only did drinks and an appetizer but both were 10/10. The appetizer was the Il Fromagio (pictured) with french bread. The tomato sauce was well balanced with pesto and goat cheese. Could honestly bathe in it, it was so good! Quick service, good food, and a down-to-earth waiter made this visit a memorable one. Will most definitely be back for more!
I've been blessed to visit Italy twice in the past year and Da Vinci's Pizza is the most authentic Italian pizza I've had in Bloomington (and possibly the US). I highly recommend the pizza and the calzone was good (I tried some of my daughter's).The pistachio cake had a gentle, pleasant flavor and my husband's dessert (pictured - Tartufo) was very good. The Italian wine I had was a buoyant, mild red compared to a Chianti Classico. I like red wine, but I typically prefer a Muscato, and this was a nice glass of wine.
Pretty good wood fired pizza here. This is not my favorite style of pizza but they had a good amount of toppings but not quite enough cheese for me. I would come back.
When they first opened, I order a couple of pizzas to take home. I don't understand why anyone would eat pizza before 9pm or at a restaurant when they could eat in on their couch watching Star Trek, but to each their own. I wasn't at all impressed with the pizzas but did love the light, fresh dough they used so I decided to take my nephew, a toddler who wanted pizza and pasta. The Margherita pizza was light and delicate and must be eaten before it cools. The pastas were very robust and heavy but well made. My nephew was happy. It's nice inside in case you don't want to sit outside and stare at a parking lot
Best pizza I’ve had in a while. Friendly service.
It is just a pleasant place to eat. The food is consistently good and atmosphere is laid back. We had the cheese bread starter which is excellent and shared two pizzas between three of us which was more than enough. My daughter had the tiramisu which was more like a parfait and she loved it. It is a solid dining option for Bloomington.
This restaurant is actually very good! Food was amazing and I was impressed by the vegan options!I have to say the service was a bit lackluster. I asked the server if she could ask the kitchen staff if the bruschetta was vegan and she outright refused which was super frustrating. I ended up figuring it out that the bruschetta was vegan. I would’ve given the restaurant 5 stars but this encounter made me uncomfortable with the establishment. I’m willing to give it another try as long as I don’t have the same server!Pictured: Vegano Pizza and bruschetta without cheese!
I was excited to try Da Vinci since I had heard a lot of positive things. The service started out well and we had drinks and appetizers within just a few minutes. As others customers left and the restaurant became emptier, service seemed to diminish. The wait for the entrees seemed excessive but perhaps our order was forgotten or there was a rush of takeout. When the main course arrived the plates were beautiful but underwhelming in flavor.Seafood Ravioli 7/10.Zoodles 6/10.Meatballs 8/10.Would be curious to try again, but was not worth the wait this time.
I had heard a lot about Da vincis and it was always packed when I stopped by at Lan Ramen next door. It was already fairly busy on a Monday night at 6 and became more crowded after we sat down. The noise can get pretty loud depending on where you sit. We just ordered a main, I ordered the mushroom ravioli. It was good but nothing to write home about. It said it came with a goat cheese/walnut sauce but it was much more like a traditional cream based/Alfredo sauce. The portion size was ok but not great for the cost which ended up being over $20 with tax and tip for essentially a plate of pre-made mushroom ravioli doused in sauce to hide their lack of flavor. Save your palate and spend an additional $5 per person to go to an actually good Italian place, Osteria Ragu.
My wife and I were the first few tables sat after opening. The staff was friendly, however very slow, especially when there was only 2-3 tables sat with ~3 servers. It took the server over 15 minutes to return to our table after I said “we need just a minute to figure out toppings and then we are ready to order”. The pizza itself was bland. It was with fresh ingredients and overall was cooked well. Just lacking in flavor. The aesthetics and atmosphere was very fun and clean. This is somewhere to go if you want overpriced bland pizza and hangout with friends and are not in a rush to go anywhere.
