I am going to ignore their staffing issues since it feels like you will get poor service everywhere due to the great resignation. But, yes, service there is terrible even compared to other locations. The pizzas we bought, tried it twice, was a sloppy mess. How do you miss putting toppings on an entire slice of pizza? My friend noticed that they let the cheese cool off long enough before cutting that when they finally did cut it, the cheese slid off the top and left slices barely covered by the time they were done. They somehow performed that miracle. So, pizza making is terribly done. The pizza itself... The crust should not have an outstanding taste, but it does. It has a terrible sour flavor to it. Then add in the cheese was so thick and chewy, might as well just eat that minus the crust? Generally speaking, if you want deep dish, save yourself a bad experience and drive down the road into Bloomington and at the first light when you get into town past Kroger, you will find Aver's Pizza. Quality of toppings and crust is so much better. I don't normally direct comparison places like this but Aver's and Chicago pizza both have similar pizza style and crust depth. Aver's is not this gloppy mess unlike Chicago's Pizza which is the first time in years that I felt my stomach turn, like I got sick even thinking about continuing to eat it after the first slice. Reheat the pizza as left overs? The mere thought of doing so makes me want to vomit. It was that bad. The only plus? Thus the 2 star rating, they have a buffet which I saw a lot of the elder 60+ crowd seemed to love. Not a place for the younger crowd, but if you are in your 60s, 70s, 80s, or older, drop by for the buffet to be around age appropriate clientel.
After working all day and just leaving the pool we had two hungry toddlers that were very naughty in this restaurant...just a few minutes ago. I had to redirect them ALOT! In some places I just feel like I'm unable to be "my normal" with my kids. Here...idk, felt pretty comfortable. While of course, I was slightly embarrassed, no one gave me the feeling that I SHOULD be. Cheyenne and the whole staff was super chill, with an "at home" atmosphere, offered to make pizza we wanted for the line and just, let us do our thing. I didn't know there was a Sunday night buffet until we were walking in the door but now that we do know and after our experience here, we will definitely be back. Awesome place for sure! Over the years, we've been to most of the Chicago's locations in Indiana. This location has always been and still is the absolute best of all of them. We now live about 1.5hrs away from this location, but we had a chance to have their buffet tonight and it's still most reliably fantastic pizza we can find in Indiana. If you get a pizza with sausage, make sure and ask for their crumbled sausage. They put a thin layer of sausage over the whole pizza that's really delicious. Their crust is soft but chewy, just like it should be. They have a nice rich sauce.Staff was very friendly, including Cody who we talked to for a bit. Everything on the salad bar was fresh, full and orderly.Hope you guys stay open for decades, we love this location.
We go through ellettsville often and always try to stop there because the bread sticks are the best of any pizza place and are always hot and fresh when we order them. It's literally our favorite quick stop snack and wish Spencer had theirs open more often. Recommend going to ellettsville Chicago's 100%!
This place beats Spencer Chicago's by far. I can't ever get anything in Spencer cause they aren't ever open. Chicago's has the best bread sticks bar none!!! So good!! This Chicago's has always been 100% consistent w service and quality! Never a bad choice when going through ellettsville Indiana and for a mere $6 you get bread sticks that will fill up to grown adults.If only they were closer to my house ugh!!
Our pizza was good and our bread sticks were really yummy .BUTthe salad bar could have been better especially if they would clean and actually replace the food with good food instead of covering it.The staff on the other hand was out right shocking!The teenagers working there we’re running loose( in the whole meaning of the word)While On the phone with a customer and bad mouthing them, smoking in the bathroom. And out right disrespectful.And to top it all the manager just let them do it!Will not be returning to this location!
I ordered a party pizza for my first grade class. The pizza was AMAZING! The service was excellent. My 23 first graders were beyond thrilled when Thomas walked through our classroom door carrying a pizza larger than they had ever seen. Definitely was the talk for the rest of the day. Thank you!!!

I really like Chicagos Pizza in Ellettsville/Bloomington area. Usually we dine in. However on the last 2 occasions we have attempted to Call and Place an Order to be Unwelcome when we call and presented with Rudeness and Poor Attitude. On Jan 15th, 2022 we experienced it again with the lady on the phone. After placing half our order we canceled it because of the attitude/rudeness. Unfortunate for the Owners who hired this employee that’s driving away customers.
This place has by far the BEST pizza and breadsticks! Came up from Florida for a visit and HAD to go there and the kids loved it so much we had to go back and get food for the ride home! The friendliest staff in town! Haven't had one bad thing from there. Must say when we come back thats definitely our first stop!
