Service was great, but the food was a sorry rip off. I ordered a dbl cheese with tomato and pickle and fries. I got a dbl hamburger with pickle and mustard. Turns out there was a small smear of cheese on the bottom, but you could not see it from the edge. The cheese was literally burned or heated into the bread so much that you could see the porousness of the bread through it. No taste at all in the thin, bland patties on dry, crunchy toast. There was a huge pile of thin, shoestring fries that stayed hot for a few moments before turning into cold, stiff potato sticks. Very poor quality. I will not go back thete.
The moment we walked in we were warmly greeted by the staff. The building gives the warm cozy feeling without feeling packed in. The train going on the track, near the ceiling was a nice touch. The waitress brought waters, and then suggested we order the Onion Burger and Tenderloin. And our son wanted a Grilled Cheese, and by the time I took the photo he devoured half of the sandwich. The Onion of the Onion Burger was cooked into the burger and then was steamed making it part of the burger. My wife had it with cheese and loved it. The Tenderloin was perfectly fried and had a nice crunch to it. The Onion Rings the perfect amount of breading and crunch on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside.
Great hamburgers, fries and shakes. Our server Liz took excellent care of us. Definitely coming back next time we’re in Anderson.
Would highly recommend! Step thru the doors of this tiny diner and you will quickly be taken several decades into the past. I fully expected to see Marty McFly or The Dude sitting at the counter. The service is friendly. The food is outstanding (Onion Burger is a MUST). And even the prices reflect the spirit of the old days.
They put your cheeseburger on toast. Let me say that again for those of you, like me, ate burgers on toast. They offer tomato slices and also cottage cheese as salads. Dude.... Also I have worked in restaurants for many years and their griddle is one of the cleanest (we went during dinner rush) I have ever seen. We will definitely be back
Brought my 11 year old grandson. My onion burger was excellent. He liked his grilled cheese. Great fries. Always enjoy being here!
This Anderson classic never disappoints! It’s the same now as it was when I was little! We had a short wait but it was worth it!
Had breaded tenderloin onion rings and water. Prices fair food excellent as was service and atmosphere. Restaurant was very clean. Tables sanitized between customers.
Cute little diner, not much seating but friendly staff and quick service. I had the grilled tenderloin and my boyfriend had the onion burger! Both were fantastic and prices were reasonable.
1st time here. Great tiny diner. Very friendly staff and quick service. Food was delicious.
