Yikes! Although the food was good the restaurant inside was filthy. The floors were very dirty and had trash and piles of accumulated dirt around the trash bins. The tabletops, counters, windows, bathroom (girls), and claw game were also dirty with unwashed tables and smeared fingerprints everywhere you look. ?
Food was very good. But the floor was very dirty. Actually felt like my shoes were sticking with every step.A real shame, because I really like fresh cooked burgers and fries.
I was absolutely shocked at how things are when ya want to dine in. I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. FROM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO ORDER FROM THE KIOSK, PAYING FOR THE FOOD BEFORE I GOT IT, NO CONDIMENTS ON THE TABLE, I WASN'T WANTING TO HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF, I WANTED WAITED ON.I felt bad for the lady that called our number and she met me half way between our table and the counter. I didn't feel right in leaving a tip and it still kinda bothers me. Then when leaving I am handicapped and was parked in handicap parking spot. The cement on the Lil ramp had uneven cement and I twisted my ankle bad on it.
I'm not sure what happened to Steak 'n Shake, but the recent uptick in pricing and the removal of several items off their menu has made it more difficult to enjoy this establishment. Our recent visit really made us aware of just how much this restaurant has changed. We ordered 2 kids meals and 2 regular menu meals, with addition of 2 bowls of chili, the total price came to $46. The removal of the kids mini corn dogs and chicken strips made it a bit trickier to find items that the entire family would want. My kids settled for a hot dog, but this is something I could've made at home for them instead of spending the money on hot dogs and fries. The whole point of going out to eat is to not cook at home that evening and have a (hopefully) decent meal on your night off. Unfortunately, this seems to be slipping, so the choice of restaurants will definitely change based on pricing and the menu changes. It also greatly depends on the time you go and who is working, so we've come to find out. There's a male employee there who embodies what customer service is all about and he deserves a raise or promotion of some sort. As far as the quality of food, it didn't exactly....excite the palate. Steak 'n Shake holds memories of my teenage years going out with friends and even a few times with my parents when they were still living, so it pains me to say that this establishment is failing in many ways. Others may enjoy the changes, although the pricing changes not so much, but that is an individual opinion to which differs for many, and in my opinion, I do not feel that S&S is providing the quality of food and service it once did.
You know the food was great but the service is terrible. All of the tables are disgusting trash cans overflowing. We had to whip our own table down and we proceeded to help two other elderly couples clean there tables. They were beside themselves with how we have to clean our own tables. And there are plenty of people working in the back including the manager and none of them have even stepped out here to check anything and we've been here at least 30 minutes. This is the second time in a row I've come to this location and it's been like this. Also the food in the picture has been on the table behind me since before we came in. I'm disgusted to be honest. Also the workers are in the kitchen cussing and carrying on. I'm sitting in the the restaurant while typing this because I can't even believe this place. I will not be back.
Drive thru window. Kathy took my order. Helped me up size my order. High energy person, super positive attitude, and how much she enjoys her job working with people radiated from her beautiful smile and her caring attitude. She's a keeper. They don't make em like that these days. I believe I enjoyed my triple with cheese more because of the positive encounter , and vibrant and positive attitude I experienced at that window, than the excellent taste of my food. Thank you Kathy for helping me have such a wonderful lunch.
I am not giving the store itself a one star this needs to go up the chain because this store is not at fault its who they report to fault. Was told they got rid of the servers which servers were the ones who cleaned so now the place is gross, but got rid of the servers to save money but look how well that didn't work out now the place is a wreck. I'd say instead of getting rid of the servers let's lower the cost of the food in here. Sad sad sad to see what once was a great place to take my family go down hill so quickly.
Everything is getting so expensive nowadays, it cost my husband and I almost $20 for a hamburger fries and a shake each and considering I ordered the special that only cost $4 The burgers were pretty good fries were kinda meh but if they aren't fresh out if the grease I think fries aren't that good. All in all it was ok but nothing to write home about. I got a Nutella shake and it needed to be mixed way better as all the Nutella was stuck to the bottom of the cup. I have a house in Marion, Indiana and one in Polksville,KY so I was just passing through as I do every week. I spend the week in KY and goo to Indiana on weekends so I pass by lots of restaurants and i am usually difficult as a always order my food special ( with or without certain things) I don't like lettuce or onions and I can't stand to bite into either after I've asked for none on my food and this happens often but this place did a good job overall. We got our food as we ordered it, quite fast and it was pretty good

This was the first at this place ,when walking in place look clean, but was deceiving cause.Kiosk machine was placed on a counter by the left as you enter.Then when done ordering you get a table what shock seat were filthy/floors looked like never swept or mopped, table filthy totally unexceptiable for a place to look this bad inside .I really give no stars I'll never come to this establishment ever again yuck sad part they weren't busy at all noone could careless about it.
