Great ,great people. Food just isn't as good as it used to be. My onion rings were crumbs and uncoated onions by the time I got them out of the bag. Hot dogs are smaller.But the Root Beer??? Still on point!!!

The Chili Dogs are exactly what you expect when you go to Gene's! Consistently GOOD! The Onion Rings were rather bland and the Fries are unremarkable but not bad.HIGH marks go to the nice young lady that took our order and kept checking on us. Her service was exceptional!
Ordered the fried breaded cheeseburger. Was told had cheese inside, it did not. What it had was some shredded thrown on top. The burger was very thin, over cooked and VERY greasy. One bite and I could not eat anymore was very bad. Got a gallon of root beer to go, was not overly impressed with it either, lost its fizz very fast. I will not be returning.
Everything is served in a bag. Styrofoam cups unless it's root beer. Kinda takes away from the nostalgic aspect. Service is quick. Orders are taken on iPad type of oder system and food comes out super efficient. Have to do separate orders if you want something to go and brought out after.Slaw dog is amazing. It's a hot dog with coney sauce and coleslaw with a touch of horseradish.They have magic shell type of chocolate that goes with the ice cream.
A local favorite and a nice place to visit every once in a while. Food is good and root beer is awesome. I will probably bypass ordering french fries for now on. I think they got new containers a year or so ago and you only get what fits in the container. It seems to be about half of what you used to get but the price stayed the same.
Always a great place to pull up, order and they bring to your car. The food is always great.. I've been going since the 80s.
Must make another round for lunch. My favorite chili dogs and my girls cheese dogs were absolutely delicious. Buns are soft, hot dog cooked just right and the onion rings was perfect. The guys at work enjoy going to the typical food joints which are open all year. I chose something different of a good classic drive in. Keep up the amazing food and service. I don't mind chili running down my shirt and pants. It's worth it :-)
The milkshake is what I came here for. The ice cream they use is rich and is the only reason I go there. I love dairy queens blizzards above all but the Shakes here specifically the strawberry that I had for the first time here reminded me of the old days of making homemade ice cream on fourth of July and grilling burgers. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is because they don't serve cheeseburgers or any hamburger. They have just about everything else you would want from a dive in.
Went for the first time today. Had the hot dogs with spanish sauce, bacon, and cheese. Excellent quality and the homemade root beer is on point for both regular and diet! Breaded Cheeseburger is really good too! Will definitely be back :)
