Not at all what I expected judging by the outside. Always heard of people tailgating before eating at this place, but since Covid, they now take reservations, so you don’t have to! Stellar food. They keep it local with some fresh seasonal ingredients & have only the best things to offer. If it’s not up to their standards that day, they don’t serve it.Had an appetizer of crab cakes - spot on! Salad & soup were all good, though I’m not a fan of the wedge salad, still tasty. Entrees we got the duck & the perkinsville pork, both regulars on the menu. The pork was perfect, thin & crispy. The duck was really good but with all the bbq sauce & filling, it was hard to tell it was duck. We had the carrot cake for dessert & had some local brews along the way. All in all very good! It’s pricey, so I wouldn’t come often, but great for special occasions. Can’t wait to make it a destination for a bike ride.
I’ve been wanting to try this place for at least two years. It did not disappoint. About an hour and twenty minute drive from our home. The tailgate atmosphere in the parking lot only makes it unique in it own right. We got seated right away from our reservation. Wait staff is second to none. The menu is limited and understandably so. What they do on the menu is done incredibly well. Had the duck and wife had chicken. If you are looking for a suit and tie place atmosphere, probably not your place. You want rural Indiana hospitality and incredible food in it own unique place this is it.
We have been wanting to try Bonge’s for some time. Made the hour and twenty minute drive. Wow was it worth. Service was incredible and friendly. Atmosphere was quaint. Outside tailgating atmosphere was very cool. Food was beyond good. We will definitely be back
I was taken there for my 59th Birthday with my brother and his family. The place is small & causal atmosphere. The waitress was very engaging and patient with us. Also smiling & looked at you when describing the menu of amazing food. Even though the menu is limited the items they have are hard to decide what to eat... There's something for every palate and the hors d'oeuvres are fantastic. I would recommend the NZ Lamb Chops they were pan seared in butter to perfection on a bed of polenta with mash potatoes & broccoli spears. To telling how amazing the meal was I did not say one word to anyone while eat my main course......I was speechless. To be taken way like that was magifique. Who ever the chef was that night he or she was on fire. Everything I mean everything was top shelf coming out of the kitchen and all the staff.I want to THANK YOU for memorable evening. If you ever get a chance to go...GO.
Super food and great staff! Try this place for a super experience! You'll make it of of ur go to places!
Proposed to my wife here in 2000. Even bought bottles of champagne for other couples choosing this place for their engagements. Been coming here twice a year since. Becoming stale and basic. Actually have brought many for there first experience. Unless you are a monthly regular you will be treated as an inconvenience and treated as a nuisance. Doesn’t matter if you spend 360 for a party of 4. Rush you out the door is the goal. Food is good at best. Filet with shrimp. Had shrimp that belonged on a salad bar. Oysters were obnoxiously large. Salmon was not house smoked. Best part is the property and tailgating. Can have a better experience with high quality food and service for same price at Petersons in fishers.
Wonderful food. Best we've had in years. I had the venison and my husband has the duck. Both tasty and beautifully cooked. Definitely our number one restaurant in the area.
We really enjoyed our visit here. The food was excellent! So good to see such a variety of choice on the menu.I had the duck stuffed with jalapeño cream cheese wrapped in bacon in a bbq sauce. I was surprised at how well the mixture of flavors worked. The venison was also very good. Tender and tasty. The starters were also good particularly the garlic mushrooms. We now know why this place is so popular and why you need to book a table before your visit to ensutre a table.
We went with a large group on a Wednesday and they hit it out of the park. The food was all cooked perfect and the service was MONEY! The drinks never went empty and dirty dishes never sat on the table. They are on it! I absolutely love this place and can't wait to come back.
Great food and unique atmosphere. Save room for desert, highly recommend the chocolate sugar creme.
