Really authentic and delicious Malaysian food. I haven’t had such good food like this since my last trip to Singapore. Portions are great, everything is fresh and service is fantastic. Do not miss the mango chicken and the roti. Singapore noodles are full of juicy shrimp and veggies. Thanks Mindy for excellent and fast take out.
Almost never post reviews but this is the real deal. To get a five stars from me an ethnic restaurant must be able to open a restaurant back home and do well. HD Cuisine is such a restaurant; I am sure they will be only one of a handful of Malaysian restaurants in the entire US that will do well if they were to open a restaurant in Malaysia. As someone born in Malaysia I can safely say this is one of the most authentic Malaysian restaurant in Chicago , if not America. First of we ordered roti paratha and was pleasantly surprised when Lin (the owner) asked if ew wanted chicken curry or lentil curry to go with it (just like in Malaysia); most other Malaysian restaurants in US only offer chicken curry. The beef rendang was flavorful and the Hainan Chicken was delicious.Btw they are mainly a takeout place and have only a table indoors (probably a couple tables outdoor during summer). However don't let this stop you; the food is simply decadent.Upon talking to Lin, we found out that her brother (the chef) made all the dishes and dessert from scratch. We loved the food and ended up ordering another dish, a few buns and four desserts for takeout.
Do NOT recommend. I ordered the Pad Thai. The base pad Thai is $13 but you are required to choose a protein. I ordered the beef. That made the dish $30. There were five bite sized pieces of beef in the dish. That's $3 per bite of beef. The dish was listed as being "mild spicy" but it was actually not even spicy adjacent. There was no flavor. I don't believe that they added anything that would give any flavor. It was basically just noodles, tofu and the five bites of beef. Not that any of that mattered as it was not edible. All for $30 for the one dish. I also got the egg rolls. They were also flavorless. Quality of the egg rolls was on par with an average Asian buffet. So, a little better than the Pad Thai.
My favorite restaurant in the Northwest suburbs. Everything I've had on the menu is incredible and I love all the food they've introduced me to. Lin and everyone else here is super nice and treats you like family. Gotta come here.
There is real love and skill in this kitchen! Make sure to try Chef Tony’s specialties. Also, the chicken satay is the best I’ve ever had
Drove from Elgin to come here - all the reviews made me come :)! We are foodies and this is unique cuisine. Family owned + homemade + delicious. Our first time to have Malaysian- definitely not our last!! We had guest over for dinner they were blown away . We ordered A2 chicken, C1, C5 shrimp , C8 lamb , and C3
The food was freshly made..the Malaysian dishes are intriguing, the beef and chicken are Halal. They offer street food appetizers as well as soups all freshly made. There are vegan and vegetarian options. They also have those Boba drinks with the tapioca pearls as well as Chinese drink boxes. Very warm customer service.
4.8 ⭐️ Google and 5 ⭐️ on Yelp kind of says it all - This place is legit! I’ve been here three times and loved the food each time. Just such unique (at least to me) flavors/ ingredients. If you’re going to break away from typical Chinese American food by trying new things, this is the place to do it!Do note there really isn’t much seating and is mostly a carry out kind of place.
Excellent food and friendly people. If first time, try the ginger chicken and pineapple fried rice.
The food is awesome here! I had the crab meat egg drop soup and the chicken mie goreng and they were both delicious! Also the owner and her family are lovely and sweet and we had a good chat with Lin
