No-frills establishment for quick Mexican grub in the Chicagoland area. One of multiple locations. You’re able to see all your food being prepared on the grill behind the counter and service is lightning fast. No more than 5 minute wait for your food. Everything I’ve tried from tortas to taco dinners has been delicious with adequate portion sizes. Prices have gone up due to external factors but ultimately not the business’ fault.

Usually get the Shrimp Cocktail from them. It's usually really good. This last time it wasn't that great. There weren't many shrimp, mostly veggies. I understand they need to manage the rations, but a few more wouldn't of hurt. Also asked for salsa. And instead they handed me cocktail sauce. As for the rest of the food...it's OK. Nothing that I'd be willing to make an actual trip for..

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE HERE. THEY WILL CHEAT YOU CHARGING TAX 30% ON TOP OF FOOD.I visited there couples of days ago to pick up the food ordered online. While double-checking the order in the receipt, I just found that this restaurant arbitrarily charged 30% tax on top of food price. I was pretty upset and asked the workers there the reason of such a high tax rate applied to it. They just said " I have no idea " " you should ask it to card company, not to us" which is totally non-sense.I demanded to cancel the order and refund but they refused. I asked again to call the store manager (or the owner) whoever is responsible for the operation but they just brushed off. This is obviously fraud and I disputed the case to my credit card company filing the complaints to the county as well.

I ordered the tacos de asada and they were very good! Though, in my opinion, the prices are high for what you get, but they’re a good place to go to every so often. I wish they had more combo variety like their Elmhurst location.

Not the prettiest restaurant but the food is fantastic! Cooked to order on a grill you can see. I had the chicken nachos cannot say enough good things about how tasty and well prepared this meal was! If you want authentic tasting Mexican food this is a great place to indulge. The prices are more than fair for the amount of food that served and there's plenty of extras!

Still awful. And I gave them more than 1 chance.Today they just totally skipped my number. When I noticed it was a few numbers after I asked the cooks what was going on. They didn't understand me or were purposely ignoring me.Went back to cashier to ask for a refund. It was 20 minutes. They wouldn't give me one. Told me my food would be right up.Another 10 minutes and they were still pushing out orders after my number.Asked for a refund again and they wouldn't do it. A few minutes later I finally got my food. And they messed up my order.I grew up with this place. Loved it for almost 30 years. But my last visits, that I go out of my way for now, have been awful. This was my last visit.

been going there for years, tacos, burritos the best....try the chicken tacos.....

This is the worst milaneza torta I ever had in my life, bread was soggy and a lot of sour cream over the milaneza steak with some diced tomatoes, for $10.00, really? I will never come back to this place, I don't need a torta like this make it in 3 min, I need a real torta with the right ingredients that takes 7 min to cook. And is not okay to precook 20 pounds of diced steak on the grill flat top all dried and burnt to speed up the service when the quality is poor.

NEAR CHOKING EXPERIENCE!We dont post many bad reviews but this time it may save someone from choking on a steak burrito. Ever since I was a kid El Famous Football Size Burrito became a little league football size now. Ordered a steak burrito with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. After my first bite I couldn't swallow the steak as it was all connected to multiple stringy pieces I couldn't even swallow.... feared I'd choke. The 2nd & 3rd bit was the same. Steak quality was poor no matter how small they minced it up. After more than half way through I finally found the 4 pieces of tomatoes and a few flakes of lettuce with a dab of sour cream. Back in the day the burritos were evenly full from top to bottom with all key ingredients. Now I'm not so sure El Famous is the place to go any longer for Mexican burritos. Also, forgot to mention the string cheese looking Churro are now hot, hollow, stringy and raw inside. Taste like a fried sugary raw oil stick. Not like back in the day. Did ownership change on all locations? Some even closed... to bad...

We come here at least once a week. The fact that they are in the same plaza as la michoacana is not even the main reason why i come here all the time. The food is always consistent. My favorite dish, 3 dinner taco steak or chorizo double rice cilantro onions and cheese only.
